So, many people seem to disregard the logi not having a sidearm, but when you can have a gun that can have a damage bonus against each layer of HP that you have to shoot through, having only one weapon is like through away 10%-25% (depending on HP distribution) or even more when you think about proficiency damage.
Maybe this really isn't new information to anyone because TTK hasn't mattered as much, but if it is going to matter more in 1.8, I really think the logis having no sidearm in 1.8 will be a fairly big drawback for them. |

Agreed.
With all this QQing about "Slayer Logi amgherd!" I'm fed up. If your Boots on Ground you're a slayer. The best first aid comes from the barrel of a gun.
AlthoughGǪI have to say that rather than a Logi being too good at doing the Assault thing better than Assaults is more to do with assault suits having lackluster bonuses and stats up until this point.
1.8 is shaping up to be a completely different game.
The most OP weapon on the Dust Battle Field:
One good logi, one rep tool, and a heavy.

My only thing would be, I define slayer as "primary mission is to kill the enemy". I would disagree as far as proper logis go...
As a squad, your primary mission is either to defend your hacked objectives and maneuver to hack the next objective. To the extent that you are suceeded at the above objectives you can move on to capitalizing on your lead to farm slayer kills. As a logi you must supplement your squad's survivability and support to ensure they can perform the above tasks repeatedly and efficiently. Your first job is not necessarily shoot to kill, but to 'protect'. It is subtle, but distinct. |

It is awful at strafing if you brick tank it though. Also, its slow speed means that if a squad is relying on it and pushing from point to point and its got lots of plates on, they will be waiting a lot more for it than they would if it weren't bricked, or it was a minmatar logi. |

^^ Agreed. And it has so much space for fitting that you can reasonably speed it up and still have great EHP. Amarr logi FTW!

CoD style players still angry only the Amarr logi has a sidearm slot.
So use the Amarr logi.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Amarr logi suits, as other commenters have noted, does have a sidearm slot at the cost of being VERY slow. It's got a fair amount of stamina, but really what's going to matter is in 1.8 when new suit bonuses are distributed. Assault suits are getting shield/armor buffs, armor repair rate buffs, lower shield recharge times, etc. It's going to make a difference.
Logi are going to more specialize in their roles as support, with each logi suit line providing excellent buffs at one aspect of support, while having equipment fitting bonuses to make support overall easier. Assault suits are going to get weapon fitting bonuses, so hopefully with the PG/CPU changes, assaults will be able to fit higher tanks and better weapons.
Don't forget that the respective racial bonuses are changing. Amarr logi represent a logi that supposed to be in with the front lines, dropping uplinks effectively, while still being able to fight well enough. They're still terribly slow compared to the assault-suited squads they're supposed to be with. The other logi suits have bonuses that allow them to stay somewhat behind the very front push, so in that respect, the dual weapons on the Amarr logi make sense.
