I've never seen a trailer for this game so there was nothing to be disappointed about.

well, the gmeplay in the trailers looked way better too! Even the skirmish 1.0 in the closed beta was better than what we have now. Right now CCP is giving us the promised basics (1.8 suits), which i like very much even if it's overdue!
Next should be gamemodes!
And I'm not talking about PC 2.0, since I got the feeling that CCP thinks that they just need to give us some shiny around the standard skurmish games with some EVE meta and be good... THAT WILL BE FAIL!
We need something like Skirmish 1.0, gamemodes that make us conquer maps with objectives that do more than increasing damage output towards an enemy MCC. Why the hell does the defender have an MCC anyway, they own the district, they should have assets on the ground, and all ground assets should be owned by the defender!
Skirmish is all just Kindergarden mechanics. I wouldn't mind to have that in pub matches, but for PC and Factional, we need more complex game modes, period!
