Take it from my personal account. If you intend to do video recording/editing of Dust 514 - this is probably one of the last programs you want to look into.
I downloaded the software as a trial and it worked perfectly fine for a month. Worked wonders, everything was streamlined and very easy to use and fit about everything I could really want out of a small time video editor.
Once the trial expired, I purchased the program for $75 - then all of a sudden the piece of **** started jacking up. Anytime I try to save a completed video the program will crash. Consistently and reliably. No amount of technical know-how will help with this endeavor (I've pulled root-kits off PCs before) and no amount of google searching will help either. After you exhaust every possible avenue of trying to resolve it yourself, or even before doing so, you might be tempted to look into Sony'sTechnical Support.
Here's a video cardinal sins they offer:
a) Live chat only discusses general questions and sales. They don't do technical support. b) Their hours are M-F, 9AM - 5PM (so basically whenever you're working). c) They have a knowledge base website that's about as useful as water is to a cat. d) If you want technical support via phone YOU HAVE TO PAY $60 A MONTH FOR IT! e) The only way to get technical support otherwise is by e-mail, which they apparently will only respond to whenever they give a ****.
To put segment 'e' into perspective, I sent my support ticket three weeks ago and have yet to get even an automated response. There has been absolutely no update to my ticket what-so-ever.
That being said, if you go into 'Let's play' videos, stay as far the **** away from this catastrophe as you possibly can.
