I was going down my list of dropsuits to see if it would let me fit a gallente proto assault before I decided to spec into them to use the suit. So it'll tell me I have insufficient skills ( Of Course ) but my problem is that I cant fit it before I skill into it so I know this is what I want. Do I have enough PG to fit my needs? Are there enough slots for the way I want to run my setup? Is there enough CPU to run my setup? I should be able to fit a proto suit I have no skills for. ( I wont be able to use it in battle of course ) But its like going in blindly with a suit that could make/break your time in Dust. You want to be sure you want to use this suit & of course wasting 2.4 mil sp.
.Make it so then I can view and fit a suit I cannot use. ( Unusable in battle but for view & fit only until you meet the skill requirement )

Seems like a good idea. You can already fit modules that you don't have the skill(s) to use, so I don't see why not.
But as Awry linked, ProtoFits is a great tool when you have a PC, or when you decide to put up with the PS3's poor excuse for a Web Browser.
