here is my idea for removing it
it will also reduce uplink spam in the later part of the game thus helping the game run a little smoother.
before you shut it down just think how stupid one of the teams would be if they left the objective to camp the MCC only to have the other team spawn in way behind them and steal the objective from them and now have it well defended while the MCC campers try their hardest to get the objective back.

In order to combat redline rail tanks:
1. make all vehicles always visible on the map. They are big enough to show up, so have them show up.
2. remove every other line on the redline graphic on the map. Let us see what's in there.
Best PVE idea I've seen.

By my opinion it is simple. Nerf range of rail tanks. Tank in red line zone cannot hit center of the map. If tanker want kills - let him take a risk to enter battlefield. It is the simple way. And in most of the cases is the best way

i agree. I cant PC as a dropship pilot because of railtanks in redlines, and this basically means im reduced to uplink hunting.. so .. yey teamwork :l

i know its annoying mountain tanks and red line sniper and tanks ...but some players if you killed them like 2 times 3 times they will totally be pissed at you and take u down what ever the cost. same with me i get pissed by dropship and red line snipers my limit if they kill me 2 times i will hunt them down till the match is.over %#%# |

They should just make railgun AI a little less aim bot and hacked. Also hey should reimplement when a installation is being used by a person it's damage drops from what the AI did. When rail turrets were like that they were actually sensible and not retardedly OP.
As for redline sniping railgun tanks they just suck so bad they have to hide to survive and manage I get points. Just send a sica or jihad LAV after them from either yourself or a friend or blueberry. I personably hate them so much I pull out a triple damage mod particle cannon and just slowly drive to a perfect spot and 2 shot there ***** and then go on to laugh at them.

I like this idea better, instead of nerfing the red line tanker sitting in the redline so he can't shoot, let him shoot all he wants... but make it so BOTH sides can see clearly into the red line area. In an actual battle, there is no shield of invisibility... you either get your vehicle brought down to you... or you don't. Simple as that.

See, the only problem no one is seeing, is that the railgun in this game is specifically designed to be used from a distance. The guys sitting I the red line firing are actually using their rail tank EXACTLY as it was designed by CCP. Think about it... The issue is not that they are being used incorrectly, It is that they are in a completely safe area of the battlefield where nobody except a tank of equal or greater power can reach them. Dropships which are designed entirely for mobility cannot reach them, and are instantly killed by them if they don't have hardeners active before being hit. Rail Tankers are, how to put this ... "Immortal".
The tanks that require "no" skill points are 2 hit killing 5-6 million SP dropships within half a second, without even getting the chance to respond. This is an issue that needs to be fixed in 1.8, and if its not, there's a serious hole in CCPs thinking.

I dont mind that rail guns shoot my assault dropship down. ITS WHEN THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY FOR ME TO GO AFTER HIM AND MAKE HIM PAY FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE.
If a redline railgun tank can shoot me from that far away, basically in another map. Then i should be able to go fight him with my assault dropship right???
In my opinion, just take out the entire redline. Put a deployable shield barrier that extends down from the MCC and is kinda like a dome shown in planet side 2.
That would give redline railgunners the abiltity to still shoot stuff from mountain tops (which i still think is pathetic) but then i can at least go after him.
And for all of you who say i should jihad jeep and kill them in the redline.....how am i suppose to jihad someone when they are so far into the redline, they are basically on another map....

Whatever. Your situation is so very special. You paid ISK/AUR and wasted/spent/earned SP to get your favorite toy. Your toy floats above tanks that aren't in the red line while being impossible to hit so you are safe from retribution. But when the tanker gets fed up and has to pull out a Proto turret to drop your toy you want them to stop.
No, no. Don't shoot my toy down. I want a push to kill you button but you cannot have one to even the score.
Tankers are sick of drop ship pilots that rarely can damage a tank. Yet they hover above us, being irritating and annoy us. Sometimes (three times since 1.7) I even get killed by a drop ship. After that I will get out a Proto Rail with damage mods and pop that dual hardener equipped drop ship out of the sky. It is very satisfying. The turrets are limited in their movement. So we need distance and very often a hill to get the nose of the tank up such that we can even target your beautiful toy.
Except CCP/Shanghai has decided that Drep Ship pilots get a free escape and their death will not reward the tanker more often than not.
Besides that I guess I see your point. Or not.
And so it goes.

This is a problem for everyone. I was flying a Myron a couple days ago, and one of my gunners killed a hostile. He was the first person we had shot at. What did he do? Pull out a red line railgun and 0KHed me. It's easy mode, and completely imbalanced. Even if he had not OKHed me, his rate of fire would have murdered me before I could get my dropships under control, or activated my booster and hardener

Worst possible solution. Fix the maps. Every map is a bowl except Fracture Road, which incidentally, almost never has rail tank problems.
