Why would people want a respec now ( now, as in the next update ) when the new changes haven't been put in place or seen in public. A better option would be to wait for it. I say this because these changes are going to happen no matter what, but wouldn't it be better to see how these changes actually affect game play, then receive a respec. If the community was to receive a respec there is a high likely hood that sp would be put into items on drop-suits or vehicles that haven't been proven efficient in the game. Sp could be wasted because of speculation and hype. It would make more sense to wait for a respec until we have seen what the large changes to the game have actually done.
1.8 must be a porn star because it is taking a long time to come.

I just want to ditch the SP that I sunk into swarms, and swap my SP from Amarr heavy suits over to Gallente heavy suits.

Main reason is because you have a very simple, powerful question/statement: "I am a Heavy player. I have all my points in Amarr Heavy because it was the only option I had when I wanted to be a Heavy. I always wanted to do Minmatar Heavy but I couldn't. I could either gave gone Amarr or not been a Heavy. Why should I not have a refund because it was a binary decision for me to make and it is now a true choice?"
Stating that a refund should wait so people actively figure out what is efficient/works the best is exactly the wrong way of doing it. The respec/refund should absolutely not be because something is going to be made better/worse. If it does happen, it needs to be because of full racial parity and actually allowing players to make real choices.
As an aside, people should really put these types of threads in the respec discussion page. |

That's it. And I feel that's the only reason we should get a respec. Vehicles should get another one when racial parity is reach with them. And turrets. And heavy weapons.

I want one because I know what I want to skill into because I think it will be fun. If it winds up being underpowered I'll make it work while waiting for more balance changes. I never chase the FotB because its simply not in my nature. I'd rather have a crap KDR but have fun playing what I play than something that is really powerful but not my cup o' tea.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

Dumb? why are you calling me dumb? I am asking a new question about respecs that I haven't seen before. I have worked out my skills continually and customized to my liking. Personally I would rather have a respec that came out a few weeks after the next big update. In my opinion I hate the idea of respecs. Its like giving a dollar to a beggar in a third world country. When they see you leave your hotel they are gonna ask you for another dollar.

This does make sense, but I see that it would be better community as a whole to have a respec for the community at a later date. I say this because it will prevent people from skillinginto the FotB and having their stuff nerfed because to many people are using it. With a respec happening sometime after the next patch it will prevent the nerf-bat from affecting so many people.
Now the one problem that may occur is that there is no change because when ever a respec occurs, balancing issues tend to happen.

Do you believe a optional respec would be better for the community? Like you only have 2 through out your whole dust career on one psn acc. Thinking about it now. I actually don't need a respec, and I kinda don't want to set all of my skills again, but if one was to have a certain number of optional respecs then would that fix your problem.
The problem I see with instant respecs is that they can create balancing issues right out of the new patch release.

What if people wanted to RP a specific race, but couldn't because they were a heavy or a scout?
That's what most people that I know of want the respec for. They'll keep their respective suits, but will use one of another race. At least, that's what my corp is doing. |

I don't want a respec. Mainly because I would probably only change my mind later on what kind of character I want and then ask for another. If you give a mouse a cookie...
Instead I want the ability to have passive SP on all my characters on a single account. That way I can build multiple characters with different roles so I don't get bored. |
