An underestimated suit. With the new damage changes to skills, guns, and mods with the suit being relatively balanced dual tank backed by being faster plus 3 high slots and 2 low will leave it a tough nut to crack. Opinions? |

Three high slots was looking pretty sweet before we found out Damage Mods were getting bludgeoned to death with the nerf bat.
Still, I agree it's underestimated. I think it'll have a pretty interesting role as the one heavy suit mobile enough to keep up with a medium suit squad and still field a tank.
It just guaranteed loses to other Sentinel suits, which is the part about it.

Like all the other Minmatar Dropsuits, it'll be the most under-performing of the lot.
A Gallente Sentinel will be able to fill the speed tank role better than the Minmatar can. If the Minmatar Sentinel had one more low slot, I think it would be more viable.

With it's higher movement (not sprint) speed, it should have an easier time strafing and giving an edge that way in a head on fight. I look at it as more of a skirmisher suit designed to get behind or flank before opening up. A more thought based design. |

Its low heath totals will steer most people away.
I'm used to being a low HP heavy, as I've been running a militia heavy with 1014 total HP since what seems like the dawn of time. A basic Minmatar Sentinel will be a massive upgrade from this Amarr trash.
Against other Sentinels, mobility will be its edge. Often, I find myself able to come out on top (or nearly so) simply because I am able to out strafe and out maneuver my fat enemy. |

To reiterate the conversation we have been having for awhile now, it depends. For the immobile 'point defense' Heavies, it will be seen as a piece of garbage.
As for the more mobile, in the fray heavies (such as yourself), it will be a godsend. Your ability to outstrafe other heavies may end up being the deciding factor.
The damage mod change does hurt High-slot oriented Heavies quite a bit (though additional tank is nice). If it had a higher recharge rate I think it would be quite formidable. Which is how I think all Minmatar suits should be. Let the Caldari Shield Tank, the Minmatar Regen Tank, Gallente Rep Tank, and Amarr Armor Tank. Of course, that's to rigid and against the natural order, and just my opinion.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the fastest fattie isn't as good as your run-of-the-mill assault suit at strafing. And good heavies can track strafing scout suits with a moderate amount of effort.
Strafing won't be enough to help the Minmatar Sentinel win a fight.
(I say all this hoping that I'm wrong.)

I meant a heavy vs heavy. Strafing in that sense will be its strength. Any heavy suit strafe fighting a medium frame will have issues but it will have a better chance at it than some. Human error is a big variable. |

I'm not sure being able to strafe a whopping 5% faster than the Gallente and Caldari Sentinels is going to save it's hide. Although it's ground speed is ~11% faster than the Amarr.
The extra speed the Minmatar Sentinel gains for the eHP it sacrifices is hardly advantageous.

If my math is right, and it probably isn't. With Biotics 5 and Kin Cats to 5, two Complex would put you up around 7.43, which beats all Assault suits except Minmatar, even with Biotics 5 on the Cal, Gal, and Ammar.

It's the flanker heavy. HMG from behind will beat any sentinel, or really any suit whatsoever. Complex red+green bottles, double damage mods and a shield energizer will make the Min heavy a terror in the right hands. It's not about strafing, it's about appearing in unexpected locations with a gun that does double the DPS of any light weapon.
Respec in 1.8 due to huge battlefield role shift for MinLogi!

Sorry, but you're wrong, but that's alright, because the correct math gives an even better result. The max Sprint Speed the Minmatar Sentinel can get with Lv 5 Biotics, Lv 5 KinCats, and Two Complex KinCats is a whopping 8 m/s
Here's the math for you numberphiles: 5.67 m/s(Base Sprint) * 1.05(Biotic Lv 5) * 1.3429(Two Complex KinCats at Lv 5 and with Stacking Penalties) = 7.99 m/s or just simply 8 m/s
Now check this bullshit out!
Gallente Sentinel
5.39 m/s(Base Sprint) * 1.05(Biotics Lv 5) *1.4731(Three Complex KinCats at Lv 5 with Stacking Penalties) = 8.34 m/s with room left over for another lowslot module of your choice, if you want to add a 4th KinCat well then you're ******* flying at 8.74 m/s.
That's right, it's possible for the Gallente Sentinel to outclass the Minmatar Sentinel at it's own specialty, speed.

Not to be a dillhole. But...
I just put 2 complex Kin Cats on a Heavy suit, a Proto Assault, Proto Logi, and a Scout suit, and from their base movement speed, which never changes, every suits sprint speed was 1.83 times higher (and some decimals), without fail. Some rounded slightly differently, but 1.83 was common on the six suits I made.
If I take that number times the Minmatar movement speed (4.05) I get 7.44. So, apparently all my suits choose to gimp themselves naturally, which is strange.
Yes, I have Biotics to 5 and Kin Cats to 5. These suits have literally not a single item other than 2 Complex Kin Cats. So, show me where I f*cked up please.

I'm not trying to be rude, but you're not being very clear. I don't understand where this "1.83" is coming from. And why would you multiply it by the base ground speed of the Minmatar Sentinel? If you could be a bit clearer, show some calculations and such, I'll better be able to figure out where you're messing up with the math. Again, not trying to be a dillhole either
