I think it would be better served to be +15-20% head shot multipier.
like the shot gun and nova knife it's just better served with a variant proficiency and imo this one fits while encouraging skilled shots. |

I like the idea but I would go to say - change the sniper rifle proficiency to be "+5% damage per level to headshot damage."
Going along this line every weapon could have a proficiency that was unique to the weapon at hand.

5% is definitely to small of a boost, considering other weapons are comparatively equal to that amount of damage, but doesn't require a head shot. the exact amount is up for debate I suppose but the lowest it should be is 10% really, for a 50% increase with a head shot. in 1.8 that would put it's head above the current output we have now, but it's direct shot damage much lower then it is now. |

No, like the shotgun it should have something more specific to the operation of the weapon, like a further reduction to scope sway or why not a better zoom, which would help for headshots?. That way good snipers could leave the redline and be more supportive in battle, because they wouldn't need to be sitting too long before being able to shoot effectively (at least with a "scope sway" proficiency). They would advance and change positions, sounds a lot more fun than what it is now. |

post 1.8 sniper rifle are going to do way too little damage, unless they intend to do something to give them an alternative role on the battle field, they will need some help.
this was a way to do that while encouraging skilled play and practice. |

Yup. Sniper rifles will suck once 1.8 hits. I just hope the Kaalakiota will still be able to counter snipe tanked snipers. |

The reduction to damage mods and proficiency is rough on the SR since (I'm assuming) most of us stack damage mods and also sheild extenders will become popular again. Some even think dual tanking will become the next fotm but caldari and minmatar have been at it for quite some time.
Anyway: Less damage from damage mods = bad Less sheild damage from proficiency = bad More sheild tanking = bad Laser rifle buff = bad
Rifle nerf = good Potentially less tanky suits due to increased TTK = good

forget to tell you, I left some remotes on your tank....
