Hi all.
I would like to open a healthy discussion on Red Lining. I speak as a Red Liner and a Red Lined player.
It seems these days that In Factional and Skirmish contracts it is uncommon to have a close, well balanced and thoroughly enjoyable game. Either you get RL or you RL which normally leads to a boring GÇÿnot so funGÇÖ game for both teams.
What normally happens in a RL game:
1. More than half the losing side give up depending on how cruel and blood lustful the winning side is.
2. The winning side show no mercy and end up racing each other for the scraps of what few reds come out to play. Which BTW decreases to the point of nobody wanting to party and end up either sniping, leaving or just whimpering inside their MCC wishing it would all go away.
What I propose is GÇÿOperation False HopeGÇÖ
I suggest when the game is clearly a RL situation that we (the red liners) pull back from the Reds home objective and give it back allowing them to them keep it.
IGÇÖm crazy you say? IGÇÖm honour bound and clearly a big softy eh?
Not so.

LetGÇÖs think about the effect of this.
1. More than half the Red Lined would still be willing to come out and party. Sure they may take back another point but hey! now we have a little game on our hands and beats running for scraps or defending a point and have no reds show up ALL MATCH. This also gives the Reds hope and more enjoyment for them especially those new to the game. We all know this game is not friendly to newbies and can be very off-putting.
2. Blues would have a more active game and check this out. You may actually have more things to hack, rep, remote, shoot and even get more kills in the process!
So when should a game be deemed RL and won? Oh come on. You just know when.
How can this be implemented?
Well as a start all those in active Corps and Squads should discuss this and If you know another language, translating to other sections of the forum would be a good thing. Putting across this idea in team chat when possible would also be a good start.
Yep we will still have blues doing the mad red line rush but if the squads / Sq leaders follow these proposed protocols then this would lessen the chance of boring matches.
What say ye?
