          just my own observations based on the dev blog regarding 1.8 we have seen ....
  1). AV across the board has become VERY VERY UP. Granted, to toot my own horn, I solo'd 5 tanks in one match yesterday; but nevertheless, AV across the board will be extremely weak; especially against shield tanks
  2). Damage mods have died. All in all, im not to disappointed here, aside from the AV fits and all. There is a love-hate relationship toward them
  3). Shield tanking will still probably be "useless" compared to armor tanking, even w/ the majority of armor based weaponary, armor tankers can duel tank (even in assault fits) more effectively then shield
  4). Logi-slayers will still be the better slayers over assaults w/o a doubt.
  5). Duel Tanking 
 
  Now, will things change based on patch notes; possibly, but I highly doubt anything good to occur until 5/14 (which im guessing will be new build), as that's when it occurred last year after fanfest

          your title states based on what we know atm, but you made assumptions on AV when we've only been given infantry changes... hopefully, ccp is still testing the AV vs tank balance and will release the info when they get it right...
  +1 for a solid AV game though... i get a little frustated sometimes trying to do it by myself... seen so many tanks take off with less than 1000 armour...

  These are the only changes coming this patch, one of the CPM was quoted in IRC saying as much
 I'll start my own war, with hookers, and blackjack! 
In fact forget the war and the blackjack.

  yeah, well only on what we know; so with current knowledge of AV, w/ damage mod reduction is it a quite a big nerf.
  As to AV game, it was fun/interesting. Had to take out proto swarms to do anything. Of the 5 got, 2 madys, 2 sica, 1 soma

  Heavies are also likely to be spammed given that the HMG is unchanged and it's going to take multiple clips from rifles to kill them.
 You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

          Weapon proficiency only applying to HP a weapon is strongest against will be huge. Damage mods will still be stacked, even though their effectivness is about cut in half, because there is still nothing to put in the high slots. Shield related mods? Ppppffftttaaaaaaahahahhhaaaa. Yeah, sure, anyway.
  1.8= Dominance of RR and CR continues, since they are best vs armor, so their proficiency is actually active agaisnt the only viable form of HP in the game. And yes, Heavies. Heavies everywhere. Running CRs and RRs no doubt. Mauler Event for the forseeable future.
 I haven't failed 10,000 times, i've successfully found 10,000 ways that won't work.

  lolz, and agreed. Though, I will say, I believe the assault suit (which ill prob still stick to), will be massively UP compared to that of logi's. If anything, slayer logi's are more effective now then they previously were

          1. Hard to say. We haven't heard anything else to really be sure. I use a Madrugar so nothing is changing for me.
  2. Possibly. Two Complex mods will now increase damage by 9.56% rather than 19.56%. With the reductions, it will probably take 15 shots where it took 10 before. Given that rifles shoot so fast anyway I don't know if it will be all that big of a deal. Have to wait and see.
  3. Hard to say really. Shields are already fairly unpopular because of the fact that gets Armor gets about double HP and Triage Hives/Repair tools are ubiquitous. I don't know if Shields will suddenly be less popular because of the changes.
  4. Absolutely. More lows and highs means more options you can do. Even if they had less HP in the end, carrying equipment is simply too powerful to pass up. 
  5. I don't know. Caldari Suits already tend to throw plates in their low slots. It comes down to whether an extra 132 HP is more attractive than +9.56% damage and I am not sure sure if it is. |
