Excellent--these look perfect. I use Sennheisers for all my audio work, so this is definitely a no-brainer.
Thanks for saving me hours of research time!

PULSE PS3 wireless stereo headset by Sony, i love it, lots of space for big ears and it wont hurt after long playing sessions, battery lasts longer than my old Turtle Beach Px3 (which sometimes lagged the chat in Dust). I also used the official Sony Ps3 Bluetooth Headset which also gave me some cool Dust514 stuff, namely the Daemon Shotgun.

don't go for anything flashy... i had all sorts of expensive headsets and then i found one with a 5 meter USB lead on it... best -ú16 i ever spent on a headset... all the expensive ones i have are sitting in a box somewhere gathering dust.
what do you need?
1) clear mic 2) reasonable sound - any headset will do good quality comm's audio... let your TV worry about game sound 3) very long cable - i never lose comm's. its a small price to pay to stay permanantly on comm's. forget wireless..its overated. 4) cheap
I will logi the s* out of you

Thing is.. i got the last one with the "Voucher Code" that gives you the "Daemon Shotgun BPO"
this would be the headset without the code (code is EU only). i can just recommand to watch the review from "MyKeyReviews" in the rating area: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Wireless-Stereo-Headset-PS3/dp/B005H59GM6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_vg_h__2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D8VTH45JW6FQXRTB6QJ
You can also get the code if you get the one ear version: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-Wireless-Keyboard-Voucher/dp/B009VUPA6O/ref=pd_sim_sbs_vg_h__5?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D8VTH45JW6FQXRTB6QJ
or the keyboard: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-Wireless-Headset-Voucher/dp/B009VUPAA0/ref=pd_sim_sbs_vg_h__3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D8VTH45JW6FQXRTB6QJ

Awesome--thanks for all the links! I love the Dust community!
I'm going with the Sony's since 1) they're the same brand and won't have any interfacing issues, 2) they're wireless! and 3) pretty much universally good reviews for this product.
I'm in the US and want my mic ASAP, so I skipped the code and ordered them from a domestic retailer. I would have loved that shotgun BPO, but I can live without it!

Pulse Elites, for the price, they're pretty damn good.
Depends what you like, I hate boom mics, and cords, so, the Pulse Elite were the best choice. If you have a local store that has displays, even though its unsanitary, try out whatever they have to make sure you like the feel. Can always buy a headset online.

I've also got the Sony Wireless headset, decent sound, clear mic, and can be charged from any mini-usb port (I'm currently using an old cell phone charger). The batteries could last a little bit longer though. Mine tends to need charging every other day. |

Piece of Scat 15 dollar bargain bin from Fry's Electronics. It doesn't hold a charge at all so I have to keep it plugged it at all times. However, despite my terrible hearing, I can make out what people say. It works for my purposes though I have been tempted to get a new one simply because it sometimes give a low charge beep despite being plugged in.
That sound, boop-boop, in my ear is the worst sounds ever. I get less angry when I hear an alarm clock go off at 5 AM after a night of drinking. It does it like every 15 seconds but never, ever after the same amount of time. So sometimes it will do it one after another in 3 seconds and sometimes it will go a full 5 minutes before boop-boop. Just thinking about it makes me angry. |

Astro A40s w/ mixamp.
You can pair the Astro Mixamp by itself with something like: Sennheiser 360 or Beyerdynamic MMX 300. too.
They work well, and they were easy enough to use with PS3, 360, and PC.
Dren and Templar equipment stats, wrong since release.

I use a cheap Logitech one. It gets uncomfortable after like 5 hours of gaming, though. I've had it for about 3 years now, the cable started twisting itself like earphones do about a week ago, my mic still works and so does the earmuff thing (it only has one).
It also has a long cable and you can pick it up at Walmart or GameStop or something for like 15 bucks maybe. It was a gift from my mother when I was 15 so I don't remember. I do know it has never let me down, though. |

An EX-05 Headset at 50 USD. Everyone can hear me properly, but the occasional squadmate complains about background sound, even though the device's description specifically boasts decreased background noise.

Astro A50. Went with a gaming headset because I play a lot while my wife and kid are sleeping.
Used to use a blue ant BT that was uncomfortable. After that went with a black ops one that went around your throat. Was kind weird and super geeky but they sold it at the exchange for cheap.
Went with the A50s because I was tired of hearing sh*t in one ear only. I'm already almost deaf from my job. The A50s have great sound, clear comms, and are wireless. Have nothing bad to say about them aside from the hefty price tag. But it truly seems so far like you get what you pay for. |

I use a Turtle Beach P11 headset, it's relatively cheap at under 60 euros here, and it is compatible with both a PC and a PS3. The mic is very good quality and so is the audio, and it has a 6 meter cable, wireless headsets are still overrated in my opinion. The earcups have slightly hard padding, but I've never really experienced discomfort even after 5+ hours of use.
I recommend you try those out.
