EVE is now testing ship skins, while the system is "wonky" it's nice to see it finally being somewhat implemented.
Though they could do it better. Anyways it would be nice to see it moved to dropsuits once the game settles in and PC/NPE/Player Market stuff are fixed/created/expanded on.

Have you read the devblog? What I see so far is the introduction of Dusts fancy colored suits with no special stats for Aurum in Eve Online. No personal customization of Eve ships yet.

"EVE" fancy colored skins for aurum. There's not DUST customizations yet :/
There is no personal paint customization for EVE ships yet. They're trying to be too fancy, Alliance/Corp logos on the ship and simple paint schemes like black, red, etc are what the players want, we don't need crazy camo patterns, and a different version of minmatar rust.

What do you think all these Aurum suits you can buy are? The only difference in Eve is that you have to buy the ship first and add the paint job later. In Dust you buy the suits with paint job. You are still not able to really personalize your ship in Eve. The colors of these paint jobs are pre determined by CCP.

The problem has always been how to cache/stream possibly hundreds of different logos on consumer machines with consumer ram without second long delays. Having two additional colors, represented by a different typeID seems like more realistic "first step".

These aren't 'custom' paint jobs yet. They are corporate/race skins. We have the same thing already. |

Those suits are preloaded, often times with stuff not on the market that usually require skills to even use the suit how its designed with the modules and weapons equipped
We don't have the same thing at all. Eve players can apply those skins to their ships, we can not. .

Just another way to try to entice EVE players to use Aurum which they never do. It a subscription game, I'll be damned if I am paying for micro transactions on top of that.
CCP your matchmaking still sucks.

Well, there are AUR suits with special paint.
Just let them be a skin slot, and make it permanent.
Boom.
