at first i was like wtf but then i through about this change paired with the proficiency change and realised what ccp was trying to do although i do think the pg and cpu should be lowered as well. ok back to the topic with the proficiency skill going from all around damage to just increasing the damage of what it excels at that 5% all around damage is going to make a difference with the increased ttk. example:SCR does 120% shield 80% armor at proficiency 5 135% shield 95% armor but for 1.8 it will be 135% shield 80% armor at proficiency 5 so that 5% all around damage to 140% shield 85% armor is going to make a difference in the long run since no rifle will get all around damage from proficiency anymore. but again it should have lowered pg and cpu cost and maybe lowered isk cost.

If it had lowered CPU/PG cost, then the blown would be softened.
But it didn't, so goodbye damage mods, hello dual tanking! (Since I have NOTHING ELSE to put in my high slots >_>)
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Unless you are sniping (and good luck with that if you are), there is no possible fit on any dropsuit whatsoever where you're better off using a 5% Damage Mod over a +72HP Shield Extender.
The Shield Extender will always win, even against lasers and scramblers. That's what we're complaining about.

I am going to slap somebody if after 1.8 people still say shield tanking is UP.

The 5% bonus only works well for long ranged weapons or when you know you are not taking damage. For front line suit a shield extender is so much better.

Ads, I'm not going to argue with you in every single thread, but the percentage difference in damage or HP is what really matters.
Individual bullet damage means nothing at all without context. Just look at sniper rifles, which have huge bullet damage by comparison, but are underpowered.

I prefer scan enhancers in the top slots, although you can make some pretty mean recharge suits with energizers.....
Sees prototompers...
Sees blueberries start to snipe...
Pulls out commando suit with laser rifle and swarm launcher...
