Which is a good thing. Me being a 34 million sp logi I am very excited for this.
Basically what this means is that suits with a secondary weapon slot have a major advantage because they can switch between two weapons, one for shields and one for armor.
On top of the removal of the armor repair bonus we are going to see an increased effectiveness of commandos, assaults, and even scouts...so hopefully all of the annoying assault logistics will go away.
Not that logistics can't be effective in combat (hey, we have to have some way of supporting and defending ourselves), but trying to use them only for kills will be pointless in 1.8 when there are so many more viable options.
Meanwhile I'll be on the frontlines with my new Minmatar logi bonuses keeping all of the heavies invincible :P (Sure my favorite repair tool is being nerfed, but the reduction in TTK from the weapon nerfs will make it easier to keep everyone else alive ^^)

You do mean the increase in TTK? Simplified theories does not dictate actual field results. |

Its kind of funny I just posted something similar about having a sidearm in another thread (Scr nerf). I basically stated that I believe we have sidearms in a futuristic game with shield and armor tanking suits, so you need one weapon for shields and another for armor. |

This game used to be fun. It used to allow many varied play styles and methods to earn WP.
Now everything will be given some kind of Nerf and yet you OP are happy. Because people that happen to play differently than you will be forced to play exactly like you. Guess what? Many of them just won't play.
You are the perfect CCP/Shanghai customer.

on a side note to the OP....
increased TTK means that Heavies will no longer be the only viable target for repping.... somewhat.... dumb mercs will still die from standing in the passageway.... but the smarter ones will now be haunting logi's for reps like in days of olde.

Actually the way this build is there are very few ways to be great while other playstyles suffer. Not everyone wants to be a logi slayer, but thats what the majority of players are running to be competitive. Don't try to say I'm wrong because 90% of players I see run some sort of logi suit, and thats just in pubs. Not all of them are logi slayers I'm just stating the obvious though. |
