Tl;Dr: ALL medium suits are getting a sprint time buff. Assault suits are getting a sprint cooldown buff while logi suits are getting a nerf relative to their stamina pool. Minmatar suits are getting a HUGE sprint cooldown time reduction making their skirmish style MUCH more prevelant. And what Amarr will continue to lack in base speed it will continue to make up for in endurance letting them relentless at pushing points from uplinks deployed from many directions. Caldari/Gallente will be much easier to wear down compared to Amarr/Minmatar.
If you look at the new medium suit stats one of the things that doesn't really jump out are the last couple of columns, stamina and stamina regen.
What these two columns correspond to is how long and how often you can sprint. The bigger the stamina pool, the longer you can sprint. Every second you spend 10 stamina while sprinting. So stamina pool/10 = sprint time. So lets look at these changes for medium suits comparing 1.7 to 1.8 times.
Assault ak.0 20 --> 25 (+5 seconds) Assault ck.015 --> 17.5 (+2.5 s) Assault gk.015 --> 17.5 (+2.5 s) Assault mk.0 17.5 --> 20 (+2.5 s)
Logistics ak.0 14 --> 22.5 (+ 8.5 s) Logistics ck.0 11.5 --> 15 (+3.5 s) Logistics gk.0 12.5 --> 15 (+2.5 s) Logistics mk.0 12 --> 17.5 (+5.5 s)
So you can see here a more significant property of medium suits vs. heavy suits will be their endurance and ability to cover long distances on foot fairly rapidly. This isn't so significant in a firefight as much as it is getting to the fight. But that brings me to the stamina regen changes.
No both stamina and regen are modified by cardiac regulators, but I'm just looking at base stats here. Because I was using time as the comparison above, I want to look at the same thing. In this case we will look at the time it will take for a stamina pool to completely regenerate by dividing regen by stamina. Here we compare the 1.7 regen time (Sprint cooldown) with 1.8 regen times:
(1.7 --> 1.8 regen time (seconds))
Assault ak.010.0 --> 8.3 Assault ck.010.0 --> 8.8 Assault gk.010.0 --> 8.8 Assault mk.0 11.7 --> 4.0
Logistics ak.0 9.3 --> 9.0 Logistics ck.0 9.6 --> 10.0 Logistics gk.0 10.4 --> 10.0 Logistics mk.0 10.0 --> 3.9 |

Minmatar will be the fast movers, if they had a buff to recharge delay on shields the suit would be even more viable as hit and run suits.
I think if the recharge delay was any closer to caldari, it'd pretty much be better in practically every way. With the +1 high/-1 low vs. the caldari assault at proto level, I think that potentially lets them get a better recharge amount compared to the caldari, if they would choose it. Otherwise, they could fill it with damage mods.
If the assault bonuses stay, its likely that min-assaults will be huge MD users. That shield delay will be an important weakness for the Min assault to balance out that weapon bonus. |

I really don't think it is a type. I believe that this is needed to distinguish shield suits apart and armor suits apart. There is no doubt that an amarr or minmatar squad will be able to cover/secure/dominate more ground faster than a caldari/gallente squad. |
