This look familiar to any gun enthusiasts out there?
Is that a Kriss Super V in .45 ACP with an eotech, suppressor, and stock removed?
Yes that is right.
CCP's design team was so lazy they copied a modern carbine into their game.

"Nonsense. It's just the design. They carefully thought how to balance it out."
Every single feature of this useless gun has been copied exactly because CCP is too lazy to come up with their own ideas.
Quote:The magsec is a semi-automatic firearm capable of sustained, accurate fire at ranges beyond what conventional sidearms can offer. A high-speed slider feeds current to a magazine of hyper-velocity projectiles that are discharged with minimal separation, maximizing energy efficiency and reducing flux shear to produce a weapon with lethal kinetic potential.
Having overcome early reliability issues, manufacturers have since taken advantage of the weaponGÇÖs modular design; the magsec has been made available in multiple combat configurations GÇô including optical sights and silenced operation GÇô and is in widespread service throughout the cluster.
So the carbine has reduced recoil.
Quote:The patented KRISS system actually works with the operator by helping deliver more rounds on-target, more of the time. By reducing felt recoil by as much as 60% and barrel elevation by 95%, the KRISS system stays where you aim it and drastically reduces the need to re-acquire sight picture...even when firing full auto at 1200 rounds-per-minute!
Quote:Unlike any other firearm ever invented, instead of having all the recoil force slam back into the shooterGÇÖs shoulder, causing massive amounts of felt recoil and resultant muzzle climb, the KRISS System absorbs and redirects these forces downward and away from the operator thus enabling him to better control and keep the KRISS firearm on-target. More control equals more rounds on-target, more of the time.
Both of these quotes are exactly from here.
It also has higher damage.
Quote:With its hard-hitting .45 ACP cartridge, the KRISS provides in-close knock-down power at 1200 rounds-per-minute and 6GÇ¥ groups at stand-off distances of 100m....all with no worries about over-penetration risks and the confidence of single-fire, two-round burst and full-auto selectability.
It has an eotech sight, picatinny rail on top, optional suppressor.
Taken from right here.
The carbine is limited to using Glock 21 mags that range from 13 rounds up to 30 rounds.
Finally reliability problems.
yeah... Why isn't this think minmatar?
TL;DR CCP's design team was too lazy to craft their own carbine so they found one IRL with horrible reliability and neat features. Common CCP. That's lame. It should be minmatar if anything, not caldari. We are 21000 years into the future. This is pure laziness. One more thing. COD already did it-twice.

Actually it reminded me of the P-90 submachine gun:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_P90
Of course, why present a model and then say "your model comes without silencer"... but other weapons have the same problem.. notably most of the assault rifles:
CCP:"Here's your assault rifle with a picatinny rail on top" Players: "Sweet, what kind of scopes can I fit on there - Holographic? ACOG?? red-dot sight? Maybe a simple 12x Scope???" CCP:"None. you got iron sights" Players:"Wait isn't this 21,000 years in the future?" CCP:"..." Players:"Hello? Anyone there?"

It really isn't like the p90 at all.
Reliability issues, small mag size, short range, higher damage, recoil reduction system.
Yeah this IS the kriss.

Carbines?!
KRISS V is automated hi-caliber automated pistol or SMG if you want, with special recoil system. Not a carbine. Carbine is RIFLE, not a SMG. Hell even ingame its SMG (submachine gun)
BTW it seems like KRISS V cross P90 from reason, both gun seems really futuristic.

Hey no problem at all, I was only talking about looks, the P-90 jumped to mind..... it's not comparable functionally at all - the charge is fed horizontally ...

Reminds me more of a P90. Who cares? They drew inspiration from real guns. The caldari aesthetic is function before form so I think its fitting. Can you find a picture of a weapon that looks like the scrambler rifle? Or the forge gun? Are you also gonna complain that the tanks are too similar to current day tanks?
Seriously why even post this? |

I actually saw the design coming before it's release. Not that, that's a bad thing but I mean...it's a SMG...The same way most of the rifles look similar to modern rifles, the SMGs and pistols do as well.
You can call the designs lazy, they look pretty decent to me...Need a little Gallente green for them to be beast .
