Has anyone ever suggested making a seriously fortified base a contained redline? Enclosed so dropships can't get in?
If a team gets "redlined" they would just get contained in their HQ.

If a team gets "redlined" they would just get contained in their HQ. I like something to that effect along with sky spawns for the team who has the least objectives or is 50% behind in clones, even if those spawns are limited to the outskirts of the map.
The main issue with the base is being able to call in vehicles. You still need a safe way to bring those in.
Those changes would, in theory, allow both a safe place to spawn without being camped, as well as a way to break out of "redline" matches by giving the losing team a chance to attack from a different angle or simply break out of a strong camp without relying on quickly scanned and dispatched uplinks.
A DUST without a redline needs railguns that can look up more, do a bit more damage per shot, but have to spool up with each shot. Alternatively, we could restrict railgun elevation and give HAVs an Anti Air designated turret that allows its top small turret to be aimed almost straight up.
This would create an environment where everyone always has the chance to threaten everyone else, and makes you think twice about deploying into battle when there is nowhere safe for you to run without allies waiting to back you up, just as it should be. Also, double the time it takes to recall vehicles, and make damage to the vehicle interrupt the recall attempt.

Well, the MCC would, or should rather, be the sky spawn. As well as all vehicle spawn. But, also each base could say, have a futuristic "printer" or two or more, in the motor pool section, if you will, and produce them in nominal amounts of time.
There could be a whole slew of creative futuristic tech put into it. Logis could also be an aspect of this.
