you should be asking if minmatar is viable. And yes caldari is a really versatile and balanced out suit.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not ur day, tomorrow doesn't look too bright either.

Caldari Assault is good, the Minmatar Assault is the bad one.

Caldari are very viable in PC.
Watch ollssam62's videos, they show him using a Caldari Assault in PC.
Caldari Logis are good when you need to be stealthy (two Complex Damps get you under Proto Quantum Scanners) or when you need a speed hack.
