Hey Doctor, the first thing is to obviously be accurate with your weapon and know what it's effective range is too. I'm assuming you are using your starter fits which puts you at somewhat of a disadvantage in this version of the game. You also happen to be playing in a heavy event so most people will have at least triple your hp with an HMG or rail rifle. I would recommend looking up some videos or guides on youtube to improve accuracy and life span even if not from this game. Everything I have learned personally has came from either Counter Strike or Battlefield. Lessons that you learn in other games are always a valuable experiences. If you want I can help you in-game as its easier for me to explain talking rather than typing. Join the "Learning Coalition" with no quotations and ask some of the people in their to help too, I'm sure someone would gladly help.

And understand that this is more or less par for the course. Don't best yourself up over a sucky kdr, any new player in this game faces this. It is worse than most other games. My advice is spend your SP on armor and shields up to 3. Play your starter fits until you get some uses how this game works then work towards that. Pretty much ignore your kdr, it is going to be bad, just try to figure out what works. Concentrate on learning the maps and stick with a group if you want to live longer, or alternatively on a DOM match you can wander around and explore the maps.

I would suggest congregating with as many other blue dots as you can. Even if it is not totally coordinated, you will get some WP from assists as well as some kills from the help of blues with weapons that cause more damage than what you can manage.

Make an Alt Character and put all your initial SP in Scrambler Pistol
Make a fitting with dual pistols
Run matches with only that weapon
Go back to main
You now have improved accuracy, Also hipfire 65 and ADS 75
