I have seen an uploaded youtube video of a new player playing dust, he went 3/14, and the 3 only came because he accidentally spawned on a dropship turret. I bring out tanks for newberries all the time. This game is totally unforgiving to new players. How long does that high from doing ok in the academy last (assuming you didn't get an ***** vet saving up his SP and going in and slaughtering everyone). Once they start playing normal matches they quit the game. And I know tanks rolling around killing everyone does indeed add to the problem. But they are also the most fun my friends have that I am trying to get into playing dust. Manning a turret.

CLONE117 True Pros Forever 707	Posted - 2014.03.04 16:01:00 - [32] - Quote it is a pain trying to shoot assault dropships out of the sky with all da lagg going on with weaponry. such as rail gun turrets. which means they can just endlessly pummel just about everything to death and not worry much. until some1 manages to get the hits in and knock em out of the sky. for tanks im a little upset about the perma hardened railgun maddy camping in the redline with 2 other gunlogi rails. they have no honor. always running the second they get hit by the slightest sight of damage. mlt glass cannons dont even do that. and they have LESS tank ability. and are extremely vulnerable to just about everything. honestly the tanks vs av area still needs some tweaking. but its in a decent area over all. the only problem are proto scrubs misusing them. /spamming them. it seems im the only1 using my tank to help push objectives giving my own team mates cover from enemy fire. then having to pull out a glass cannon to deal with redline gunlogis and maddys up far off in the hill lines. and those that activate fuel injectors then run away. while hardeners are still active. if ppl would start focusing on killing these individual players life for infantry would get a whole lot easier. and i would finally be able to stop having to pull out a rail glass cannon each match and get some hmg kills for the heavy event.

I'm sure it is very hard to balance vehicles and av but any thing they do, people will always try to find an advantage i.e. cheap no sp rail hav with two damage mods shoots down 500k dropship i would have to kill at least 9 without dying to equal the risk. and still 4 proto forge gunners are cheaper who can deny me from even getting close to them. i am just saying i would agree some things are unbalanced in my opinion its that everyone can get a dirt cheap hav with no skill and wreck shop. but ill always say that even a great dropship pilot with infinite sp is still at a disadvantage. i enjoy flying dropships the require actual skill and when you see me go 20 and 0 in back to back games just remember i will still lose in the long run and be broke. so BITE YOUR TONGUE at least about dropships (for the record i didn't complain when it was 900k a dropship and i had to play 6 games in militia gear to save up to buy one dropship) in the end if this is a big enough problem get a better group of friends or corp as i would love to be on the ground proto stomping but my corp needs me to handle the threats of hav and dropships so thats my role even if i lose badly or am out numbered i keep those guys busy so my team can win. its called teamwork and it just so happens someone has to take the fat friend to allow the other guys on the team to take the model home

Meh I'm better on foot than most infantry out there, but I don't want to be on foot. I would rather HAV become high alpha AoE weapons platforms, where gunners and squad mates protect me from infantry, and I have to skill shot my enemies rather than just blaze away.
