A few of the highlights:
- Constant disconnections, fatal errors, fitting screens that don't load, coms bugs (this is on a rock solid 72mbps connection) - Awful grind; 'events', which are supposed to break this up, always make this even worse - Our decisions count for nothing due to constant 'rebalancing' - Advertised as an MMOFPS, but godmode tanks make infantry a liability on most of the maps - Cheap playstyles (redline sniping, rail sniping, spawn camping, etc) are all reward and no risk, while frontline players get minimal reward in ISK terms even for 40+kill, 2500WP+ games and carry all the risk, with the result that more and more players play cheesily - Terribly unbalanced battles - The general playerbase is ignored in favour of the pet projects of individual CPM members (case in point, godmode tanks)
And before you ask, no you cannot have my isk. I'm not going anywhere, not yet. I'm just asking CCP to pull their finger out if they want to keep players. 1.8 is too far along to be changed now, but after that please focus on getting the basics right.
- Fix the bugs! This should be your MAIN development focus; yet major issues, like fatal errors, have never even been acknowledged - Events should be a bonus on top of what we usually get, not something that requires even more of a time commitment - You should ONLY make changes to balance to things that are clearly OP, like the Tac AR and Calogi back in the day; in the future don't just change everything at once as you have with 1.7 (vehicles) and 1.8 (infantry) as it always ends badly - Buff AV - Zero WP, SP, and ISK, and reduced damage output inside friendly redline; also make spawn camping less appealing by making reds near spawns visible - Fix matchmaking without increasing queue times significantly; it doesn't have to be precise, just don't put all the high SP players on the same team - Abolish the CPM in favour of wider consultation |

I hear ya man. FYI- Your list is way too short
This game was developed by less than stellar people. I think the flying scotsman might be the dude who ruined the game? It's not even a shame, it is a case study at this point. But as customers you see people like foxfour and his crew who just brag about partying and being drunk.. and well, are you surprised the game is like this? I know some players got a kick out of it, but I thought i was insanely unprofessional to tote that image and patch after patch deliver this garbage. Meanwhile, a lot of us closed beta customers put hundreds of dollars into supporting it. Basically, it has been a big slap in our faces, and while we get ignored.. They have what they have as far as flatlined player growth. So we get to watch our glorified kickstarter project get run into the ground.
I think Saberwing is on it though. He might be a good manager, but it seriously remains to be seen tha tthere is any talent involved. And I guess Rouge is supposed to be that talent. So we will see. So 1.8 is the last of the garbage...
If 1.9 or 2.0 is the same, well, then **** it. It is obviously beyond them.

And so I wonder whether or not all previous complaints on these forums have been spawned from a single, miniscule, trivial irritant, and simply evolved into a grievance of epic proportions.

I think the sentiments expressed in your post are shared more or less by everyone... and I await with impatience an end to this long silence from CCP, which will hopefully bring some good news.
I'd say the grind events are really the community team doing what they can to stimulate the player base with the meagre tools they have at their disposal - 3 months since the last patch and no balance fixes in between is hard for most people I agree and all the bugs you mention I've experienced, especially "fatal error!", should have been fixed straight away and not wait until the next patch cycle. Fatal errors and hard reboots for a PS3 is not a good thing.... |

What are you on about?
None of the CPM are vehicle pilots and are against vehicles completely and would like them removed from the game if possible

It's about roles like redline sniper and rail sniper that gives you kills, WP, SP and ISK with virtually no risk of death. There's a reason you regularly see Thales in pubs.
Maybe the damage reduction etc would only apply for teams that have a spawnpoint left outside of the redline. That way you deter redline sniping without disadvantaging redlined teams even further.

What are you on about? It's that the pet projects of individual CPM members get waived through regardless of their effects. It's game design by lottery.
On this occasion, the 'OP vehicles' card came up. May well be the case that it wasn't planned to be OP by the CPM in question, they probably really believed it was a great 'rebalance'. Vehicle users lose out from the randomizing influence of the CPM as much as any class does in the long run.
And I have nothing against the CPMs personally. They are trying to do a good job. But there's no reason why a handful of players should have so much influence. The government don't set policy according to 'what some guy in a bar thought was a good idea', even if he is a nice guy trying his best. |

Had to throw in the redline, probably your whole issue in reality.
I got Thale's sniped earlier. Two shots and dead. As I lay there I look at the kill sheet: he was 278m from me, and wearing an Sentinel AK.O. I also knew that from the 1st shot where the hit came from direction wise.
Back to spawn screen, here there is an overhead map, looking at where I died, judging the distance, I guess he was on the MCC(280m back from that point on the ground wold have no safe line of sight.
Now considering he was wearing a real ehp fit, and I was on my alt with 0 skills into sniping I chose to actually, go after him. Call in a base gorgon, fly right up there, remembering his positioning and guessing his area of focus I was able to fly up without spooking him, land right beside him and gun his ass down.
TL:DR . You can kill people in the redline , even the one with a great advantage from being there. Man up, toughen up and go shoot some bad guys in the ****
As for the rest, fixes to problems and bugs should be prioritized, but you have to remember this game has another which is keeping the dedicated players active, which is where new content is needed.
I think that you over exaggerate the connection and fatal errors issue, I have had 1 fatal error in the last week and just as I was typing this response up I was disconnected, but that was my wireless routers fault.

Not sure where you're getting the redline being my main issue from? It's quite a long way down my list. Redline snipers=I lose a suit. Fatal error=I lose a suit, plus all the ISK and SP from a 20+ kill battle, plus I have to relaunch the game and spend time finding a squad. What do you think's more annoying?
As for your story about being so 'tough' that you dropped everything to put on a 0 SP sniping fit, call in a drop ship and go hunting, do you REALLY think that's the best thing for your team? It's a lot of time and effort just to get one kill. If you're a decent player you're better off just playing the game as normal, as you'll contribute a lot more on the frontline. If the only way to 'counter' a redline sniper actually disadvantages your team, that means there is no real counter. |

.... or, more beneficially to both sides, the game COULD simply launch rapid missiles when all points have been capped, thereby ending it faster. |

BUMP just in case all the 1.8 QQ is letting CCP forget that the game is ALREADY broken.
I'm getting fatal errors about one in three games now. CCP don't even recognize this is an issue, but it makes the game impossible to play for me. I'm reinstalling yet again, but if this doesn't help I'll have to stop playing, obviously. |
