What did you expect?
CCP doesn't know what they are doing, plain & simple. That's why we have so many console games that support direct KB/M interfaces.... WAAAAAAAAIIIIIITTTT A MINUTE!!!!!!!

Play armored Core on Ps2.
That thing teaches you to abuse your precision angled strafing: I can pull of a PERFECT 35 degree strafe which allows me to dodge fire, AND close the gap, easier than the Kb/m's 45 degree dependency.
25 degree for those quicker sprints to ensure you get behind him or as close as possible while still dodging, and 55 to keep your distance.
More than that, you can 'figure 8' your controller, making you dance in some of the lazoest circles you will ever see.
Ds3 is the strafe master, you just have to stop being a CoD scrub and LEARN to use it.

Then use what the big boys use and get a mouse. These DS3 controllers are laughable. Maybe they're ok on Pac-Man.
Even better get what I use GÇö the Frag FX Shark.

so that's why he ate 5 shotgun shots to the face that did no damage and he turned around strafed faster than me and melted me in 6 seconds... hmm totally my fault and it seems fair.

Even better get what I use GÇö the Frag FX Shark. The only thing 'good' about kb/m is the fact theees no delay to switching directions, and is easier abused with finger tapping A and D. I do it on my DS3, does that make me a Kb/m abuser? Once movement delays are included, (look at Warframe, you can strafe, and even throw off your enemy, but constant spamming makes you litteraly stand still twitching your legs.) KB/M will be optimal for sustained aiming, whereas DS3 is for precision dodging/twitchy gameplay.

I shouldn't engage trolls but... KB/M is inferior to the controller. It puts a cap on me - it is never consistant and is worse in close quarters combat. On the keyboard strafe - it is only done by dicks, I never use it as it throws off the immersion.
Russia is more peaceful than USA. Fact.

KB/M will be optimal for sustained aiming, whereas DS3 is for precision dodging/twitchy gameplay. This is very true. But that's not a when, it's an IF. I've yet to see a word from CCP saying they are trying to add movement delays for kb/m and I've been here for 2 years. The most I've heard is that they are looking into ways to close the gap between the two input methods, and that was like 6 months ago. I assume they think they accomplished this with aim assist, but the lack of movement delays is 10x better than aim assist has ever been in Dust. I'd be fine if they removed aim assist altogether as long as they added movement delays to kb/m.
If they do, then 90% of all kb/m qq will vanish. But I'm not holding my breath.

Its not about the pattern, its the speed. A DS3 can make better patterns, but KB/M allows you to move within that pattern much more quickly. A simple side-to-side will move about 35% faster on KB/M. That's a considerable difference.
It allows for a more 'quality' strafe as opposed to a super complex on. But even with KB/M I can do darts(My preferred strafe of choice) way better than with my DS3.

Most heavies I've are stupid I've seen a lot of aurum Proto Heavies with Aurum weapons indicating they most likely specced just to ADV for the event and are using PRO to make it easier. They just stand their and try and tank it and my little standard heavy that could wrecks them because I out strafe them, but out strafing a heavy is one thing stack some more armor on the heavy and it becomes increasingly more difficult now put it up against a scout and theirs no comparison.
See, here's the thing DDB isn't bad. -8213
