But most of all, what kind of damage is melee?
If it's not under any kind of weapon damage it means that heavies will not have any kind of resistance to melee.
Bonus question: does nova knives have the same damage of melee or they are under another kind of damage?
1.8 it's so secret that nobody know what will be in it, even after patch notes...

Nova Knives are unclassified, and not affected by shields or armour Raw damage
I believe melee is the same but am unsure as it can not be tested with no readout on the hud

You can test it by actually meleeing someone.

I need a willing victim, who can tell me how much damage they take with and without shields
