It'd be hilarious if that actually happened, because so many of you would be screaming and crying about how people could still run proto.
Hell, even if PC ISK got removed some people (like myself) could run proto 24/7.

Isn't that this ancient game mode which actually had a meta game but got shut down by the incapability of CCP to fix a bug?

If PC shut down, all those competitors would enter the pubs and mudhole stomp players who complain about Q-syncing, protostomping, tanks, and just being outmatched on just about every competitive edge. No, you want PC to remain active. And you want it fixed. You're not ready to face that situation.

Welcome to adapting a lobby shooter to feel like an MMO.
Doesn't make the statement any less efficacious.
If I could play PC for hours on end and didn't need 2 days notice to hop in and start fighting then hell yeah we'd be in a much better place.

hmm...I think you underestimate how many people play this game actively...or how many people play PC...
about 48 corps play PC...not to mention their alliances...
Considering the ability to field a team necessitates about 35 MINIMUM players available if they are all immensely active...
35 x 47 = 1645 players participating...and that's not even remotely close to how many should be once locking is done.
I used the lowest numbers possible....most likely double that because the average amount of players it requires to hold a district 7 days a week with everyones schedule puts the comfortable number nearer to 60..and many people like Top Men or STB or ML rotate a boatload more in.

The problem with planetary conquest is the exploitation of the districts themselves. It is difficult to want to spend the isk on a broken mechanic that allows for certain corporations to first secure a district then move players to a dummy corp so they can battle themselves and build resources and make isk within their own corporation.
CCP seems to ignore the fact that this is taking place and chooses to do nothing about it. Simply put, DUST 514 is a broken game filled with broken mechanics, glitches, and frustrated players who are already finding it a toss up between loading the game to play or hitting themselves in the foot with a hammer repeatedly; As both seem to deliver the same emotional results.
I do know if this next update is another fail, they will be losing a whole lot of players, and suffering the negative feedback delivered over additional internet avenues.
An example of what was mentioned above is the nanite injector issue. Seems they have had a struggle with it from the beginning, only now it has gone from not being able to revive but to a point that leads a logi into chasing ghosts. For months now have they added a patch to correct it? NO! even though revival / loss is a major part of the game. OP weapons? corrected? NO! simply corrected 1 weapon just to introduce the same problem with a different name. TANKS / AV hmmm buff the tank and nerf the A/V did this make anyone but tank drivers happy? NO! When a militia tank can out perform a proto weapons, there is a problem. Why bother with skills if they do not mean anything?
I used to dump real cash into the game, but then I realized that it is wrong to spend money on a broken item. |

Not active? The PC matches we had last night, and two the day before, must have been a figment of my imagination.
There certainly aren't as many as there should be -- locking districts has made it MUCH harder to attack -- but to suggest that PC is not taking place is, well, wrong. |
