Everyone needs a good repository of information. If you need to find the latest details on a dropsuit, weapon, or other bit of esoterica, or have some of your own that you want to share with the world, then there is no better place than dust514.info for it. In our latest Community Spotlight, we talk with Winsaucerer and find out about it.

Thanks for this, and cool spotlight, but the community does really need to know:
dust514.info does not update their info.
The weapon stats are all from Uprising 1.0 (at least HMG stats) and aren't updated regularly.
If you're from dust514.info and seeing this post, get on that ****.
(I'll edit out this post to say nothing if you do.)

That site needs to be updated. It doesn't even have weapon ranges or the updated vehicle skill tree. Still good though.
Where is my Gallente sidearm? 1.8? When is that? SoonGäó514

The wiki does indeed have much out of date information. I can vouch from my experience though that it is too much work for one person to work on in their spare time :) So if you see an out of date, please consider sponsoring your favourite weapon or vehicle, and keeping the page up to date. If you went there for info and the info is out of date, no doubt others have too. Many will benefit from your changes!
It is particularly important for a game like Dust, which has many changes at this stage in its development. |

Fair enough, sir. Great response.
Since I care about it, I'll volunteer to take the Heavy Machine Gun page under my wing.
Now to... figure out how to do that.

Superb! Please email me (email in Community Spotlight) if you have any questions about how to do this. |

Yep some info currently is definitely out of date. The changes to PC and the vehicle rebalance haven't been touched. I've stopped updating pages manually, however, and I've turned to FoxFour's SQLite SDE as a much more eloquent and less tedious solution to updating pages one by one. Previously I had to set-up a laptop next to me as I sat in front of my television, scrolling through the marketplace, opening up each item's info and tabulating all of that into a basic excel spreadsheet.
Needless to say, I got a little tired of it. I felt that it wasn't worth my time to go over everything again and again each time a new patch or expansion came out. My initial attempts at learning how to use databases without a mentor have been fruitless, I'll admit. However, I will attempt to make friends with my university's resident techs and see if they can't be persuaded to help out.
To all teaching newbies, I would suggest as of this moment you may want to keep us bookmarked, but do not refer students to us, except for our Newberry guide, which I still think is an entertaining and useful read.

P.S. EVE is addictive.
