Thanks for the understanding guys. uhm not trying to make anyone feel left out or start an argument but what about listing dust players who've brought aurum? should filter out a large number of the alt accounts and people who couldn't get into dust. i'm sure a sizable portion of this community, particuarly the older beta guys have spent AUR at some point, this could be a good way to include them and newer players as well. i can understand if you guys won't touch this with a stick because of the image it could send but its just an idea.

What a pitty. the monument was supposed ot be to celebrate the vets and to celebrate the first 10yrs of EVE online. personally i think that anyone who signs up beofre march 1st and gets their name on it is ridiculous. i've been an EVE player for almost 10yrs but in the past 12months i've had to sub as/when i can due to redundancy. now if i hadn't been subbed on march 1st i wouldn't have been included in the monument despite subbing every month (at about -ú8 per month) for th ebest part of 9 yrs. thats not celebrating the vets thats kicking them in the nuts while they're down. i think anyone whose characters have had a regular subscription over the past 10yrs should automatically be included That's why I'm confused about this thread. If the whole point of this "Worlds Within a World" monument is to be about 10 years of EVE, why the heck should Dust players be offended at not being on it? Dust hasn't even been around for half that, and when you consider the fact that you have to be subscribed to EVE to even get on it, that's pretty much asking to get for free what the rest of us had to pay $15 per account for.

Its like having a Ford Monument in the US. If you think about how huge the automotive industry is here, and how much the Ford company elevated the automobile industry here, it would make a lick of sense to have a monument to the company.
I wouldn't say Video Games are all that much in our society yet. If video games disappeared today, what would you do? watch TV, read a book?
If Books disappeared, what would you do in your free time? Or if television didn't exist?
Games are becomeing more closely ingrained in our society, but it isn't like now where you expect your child to read a few things, like picture books, or don't bat a lash at them watching cartoons. Its becoming more and more like that, but you'd still kinda stop and look a sec at your child playing a video game, Legos or GTA.

You miss the point completely. None of us give 2 ***** about a dust monument. I'm simply pointing out that Eve gets all the love and dust doesn't get ****. I mean where is CCP Rouge the dust EP that has been around for 4 months now. Oh saberwing says he will talk to us in april/may. team true grit no longer on dust( so no fw or PC changes). If there was a poster boy for not to develop a game dust would be it.
Also as an 8 year eve vet I think its great thing ccp did for Eve and am very happy to have a bunch of toons on a real life monument. cool ****.
