The announcement promises "hands on", so one would assume there will be at least a beta build of this "new evolution". Therefore it can't all be pie in the sky promises (though there is sure to be plenty of that as well).
My money is on PvE. They've been playing with it in-house for months now and have been hiring AI programmers, probably in an attempt to make them smarter than the RDV pilots. It's the one thing I can think of that could be deployable in that time frame.

The 1.8 content(barring surprises) was mostly in the works already and really from the old roadmap, but was a certainly a great candidate for still delivering needed content while setting the plans of the new regime in place.
The new plans that replace all the old dialog the playerbase has had with CCP.
Smells like ground zero.

While the Rouge guy seems promising, and is given glowing reviews from the CPM guys I talk with, it will take a LOT of work to heal my ditrust with any media CCP brings out to hype the game.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I pretty much never get on Dust anymore or stay active on these forums just because of the sheer dissapointment Dust has caused me. So, I'm sure this fanfest will have awesome looking videos of Devs doing insanely cool things (just like last time), and the entire actual playerbase of Dust will never get to use/see these cool things the Dev's are showing.
CCP Fanfest for Dust is more of a time for Dev's to show off and make everyone else jealous of the things they get to "Try" and never actually release.
Tankers are being diagnosed with a new disease; Cancer of the Assault Dropship.
Many of them don't survive.
