.... that our put to such poor use. For example, there a lot of really cool and interesting weapons, but the only way to try them out is. A) Spend SP B) Buy Aurum version C) Hope it has a militia variant
Then the only place you can actually use it unless you join Oceania is a public match, where in some cases there will be no way to properly test it out.
I can understand having limits on specialization, but taking standard weapons into a pub match for most people isn't viable. The lack of balance means that a lot of stuff goes unused. When was the last time someone was killed by a Minmatar Assault suit? How about that laser rifle?
This game has really become something great but there is a problem when you put the end game people in the same place as the new players and don't think that has a serious affect on NPE. I'm done ragging on the proto stompers in pubs, it's just ridiculous the mechanics are set up in the first place.
Speaking of endgame player experience, WTF is up with the passive ISK machine that is PC? How are you going to make a proper economy when NS can generate a quarter of Molden Heaths wealth without any opposition, or any extra labor. They'd need maybe one person locking districts at that ridiculous time. I know they can fight later, I've been in enough Nyainsantankspambush to see there activity. This isn't about them either, it's the fact that these broken mechanics have been in this game for has long as they have and nothing substantially is being changed or even hinted at being in the works.
I would rather have overall the mechanics fixed before any more content is released, as much as I'd want a Gallente heavy.
This isn't war, there is not control in the real New Eden, and all these misteps will come back to bite you when you try to make this game what it was promised to be.

I use standard weapons and suits with militia mods all the time in pubs. You have to really, really annoy me to get me to bring out my adv. and proto gear. But having said that, there is a problem with the large difference in power between high and low tier gear. Tiercide should fix the problem when CCP eventually gets around to it; hopefully sooner than later.
Yes, PC is currently a poor feature of the game being exploited to run proto 24/7. There are a lot of things that need addressing with PC.
Blatant Dust_514 recruiting in the silliest of places. :P

I thought most people ran standard/blueprint suits in public matches for isk efficiency?

Last night, myself and corp mates ran a Laser squad in ambush.... At operation L3 I don't see why people complain on lasers, they work And as for the Matari Assault, it may not be the most common but it gets used By some really good players who have adapted to the suits strengths/flaws
As for trying out the new weapons....
A) 12,000 SP is half a days passive SP, not the biggest investment B) Create an alt to test other weapons, delete him, create more... test more
And there is no point calling out Nyain San on district ISK farming They are nowhere near alone in that, as most 'good' corps have took part In various ways to bolster their ISK, KDR, and SP...
As for the NPE, it's all about adaption... It's not like it was different when we started
Plasma Cannons works, any less drawbacks
And I would have an Atomic Bomber on my shoulder

I'm more miffed about the second part than the first.
