So I don't know about some of you guys and gals, but as soon as 1.8 rolls around I'd hope that the Amarr and Caldari sides will start winning more. Personally I prefer the Amarr but not because of their background or their beliefs, rather it's for their awesome laser rifle and assault suit. So I'm just wondering if there are any of you who will change their "alliance" in FW for the new suits and weapons coming in 1.8.

Unlikely. The Amarr weapons are definitely cool and extremely effective, but I just prefer the feel of shooting actual bullets from an actual gun and not something that just goes "Pew Pew" ... though I can't deny... that Viziam is sexy~! And I do love that scrambler pistol. *Now wants a scrambler rifle Irl*

Though this is me hoping that people will do this would love to see a more balanced FW system.

It's still kinda unlikely that this will bring in many new Amarr players. The ones already partway there might convert fully, but I'd guess that's about it unless the other weapons suffer a massive nerf. The scrambler rifle has the highest DPS in the game as far as I can tell, and yet only a select few people use it. The laser rifle is just such a situational weapon that most people won't bother. Granted, both are amazing at what they do, but one requires a specific suit to be fully effective as well as a lot more skill than most weapons while the other is only going to be good in a few situations.
More balance would definitely be nice.

I currently run Minmatar, Galentte, and Caldari FW.
Minmatar is the only one I care about getting rep with, Gal and Cal are just to try and get a match. Hopefully come 1.8 I'll be able to cut back to just Minmatar, but until then the Cal don't win enough to substantially effect my standing with the Gal, and the faction coin I earn is enough to buy proto sniper rifles.
Come on Amarr, pick up your game. You managed a good fight for a couple of weeks so I know you can do it, and I don't want to run Pubs anymore

I doubt Amarr will see much of a resurgence at the beginning of 1.8 I expect Caldari will though as allot of people will perhaps want to get some LP so they can try out the new scout and heavy plus the 2 new sidearms. People may try all the races to get some LP to try the new stuffs but I think Caldari will get the biggest bonus and the Amarr the least as all they are getting is one new suit which is largely considered to be the weakest of the scouts.

Don't make me laugh, this is Dust practically a completely different world than EVE besides EVE pilots make no noticable impact to Dust for us to really care what happens up there. Not only that I'm here to play a shooter not a RPG, I like to have full control of my character not just point click and wait.

Well to be quite honest even if the Amarr don't get more prople to fight for them I'd at least be happy with some more competition between caldari and gallente cause right now it's just sad.

The Amarr are gaining a Light Assault suit come 1.8, so, I'm doubting that many people will change.
Caldari, however, are gaining a Heavy Suit and Scout. The Heavy being the master forgegunner will more than likely sway some people to Caldari FW.
xSivartx is my Heavy. There are many like him, but he is my own...
