this is just bs why can a blaster tank kill me at 250m when i can only lock on at 175 this is bull **** and i am sick of players in free suits running militia grade tanks racking up kills and isk do to there not being a proper light infantry av wepeon give us back some range or reduce how far tanks can shoot i was just in a battle where a tank took 5 of my adv swarms and 2 from some one else he hit his hardeners well the last 3 hit with about 1/3 hit armor left and ran away only to come back a few min latter and kill all the guys on the hill at 200 m away this is a crappy way to have the game set up and we should not have to wait 3 dammed weeks let alone 3 mounts 4 this crap to be changed got on fixing the things that need fixing and stop worrying about new op crap the game dosn't need and don't get me started on how the 175 m vs a drop ship was a dumb change too

FYI Blasters are actually weaker than they were in 1.7.
They're only popular because MLT tanks are cheaper than a Proto.
Do not complain if you have never done anything about it.

If you really wanna talk tanks then the railgun is the one that needs fixing. Missiles are basically useless anymore, Since Railguns are so much better.
Do not complain if you have never done anything about it.

yes railgun tanks are stupid too powerful and too much range missiles have there use but not as much as before |

maybe at militia grade but at proto level missals will destroy armor tankers but there weak vs shields i have seen them kill a instillation in 1 hit also the splash damage is useful vs troops , but this is not about what tank works better or dose more damage this is about the light infantry weapons ineffectiveness vs tanks of any kind do to range nurff / damage and the new mods tanks got |

I think its situational and how proficient a player is with the weapon of his choice.
Whatever the strength of the Blaster previously its still too powerful. Like you said a MLT blaster will ruin infrantry day all day long.
Rails are the go to weapon for AV but I think thats pretty self explanatory without the need to go into its pros/cons, am not ready to call for a nerf on this personally I think its balanced, theres a lot of top tier ADS pilots out there that can survive insane rail fire nowadays. HAVs that sit infront of a railtank and wanna trade until it pops? Get good assholes.
I enjoy missles but I wont spec too much into it, I think missle hit detection is a bit of a sham but there is no greater feeling than sneaking up on a maddy and letting rip with a full payload that will crush anything like a tin can. |

i can hit infantry pretty easily in close range with a rail gun and with missiles. a bit more effective too. just doesnt hold enough ammo to keep ppl suppressed.
but if i can run from a blaster tank in a mlt suit. y are all these others not having any success?.
the many times ive aved i use av nades first then throw out the more powerful swarms. works well too if the vehicle doesnt have any hardeners active at that time. |

no i was on the side of a hill and he was spamming the hill cause there were 2 or 3 av swarmers on it and he was out at about 200 m |

with my missile glass cannon. i barrage the tank. if it survives ill jump out and fire a mlt swarm and get the kill.
yea grands work if you can get close but all most all maps have little cover and huge open spots which make it ez 4 a tank to sit and spam just out of range of the av and the hole if they dont have hardeners on thing is the problem hardeners make the tanks too resent to damage then combined with the speed booster they just run away when there hp gets low |

tanks do pretty much own a few of the open terrain areas which can be vast. although infantry crossing these areas are extremely vulnerable regardless of tanks due to snipers and such.
and tanks them selves can be vulnerable in these open areas. it could be rail installation from the other side of the map that can take them out. the best overall way to take down a tank while its hardeners are up is through the means of a glass cannon. which normally has nothing but stacked damage mods. av has to play the waiting game and attack while those hardeners are down. which are basically permanent on a std tank. i had some ideas on how to solve the cycling problem. by having activating one hardener activate all other hardeners of the same type. and give them a side effect by slowing the vehicle down when active. creating larger windows for av to attack.
using tanks them selves isnt entirely easy. with the addition that there rnt many areas they can get to. they really only have free access to open areas. i feel tanks them selves r fine. and so is av in a way. tweaking some of the active modules for vehicles could help further a balance. as for the blaster turret. it has allowed me to suppress ppl for my own team to flank and attack. but its also relatively easy to avoid when using cover. it may rotate faster than all the other turret types. but ive noticed it taking up to 20+ rounds to kill a moving infantry player. possibly due to hit detection issues or lagg idk. now with players that stood still theyd go down relatively fast. which probably should happen anyways in a situation like that. asides from the tanks. i rarely die to them when on foot. more than likely im going to get killed by some proto bear with a rail rifle. |
