I noticed they axed the much despised "W.A.R" kits without much fanfare - they unsurprisingly didn't last long (it feels like they were on the store not even 2 months?).

 Is anything replacing them?

Definitely - dozens and dozerns of expendable aurum items are not great value. Without BPO's now I'm guessing the only thing they can do are have like faction booster packs or passive/active booster packs at really good prices - with a nice chunk of aurum thrown in for good measure (and by a chunk, i mean a lot)

I think it was a mistake to get rid of BPOS. If a guy is gonna pump cash into the game at least make it worth his while. Vets still have their bpos. I still troll with my dren bpos, guys are still trolling with templar bpos, why create division instead of creating a level player field for people with the means and the desire.

I managed to grab a bunch of those kits and honestly they were a total rip off.

In future if CCP do kits, at least make them somewhat customisable instead of a blank 45x suit with no explanation of whats in them.

They should consider giving people their money back for those packs. Or at least giving them some AUR. Those WAR packs were bad. Like $20 a drink at a strip club bad.

I want to see the old purple and black 'raven' assault.

I would also love to see some more BPOs, as I've got a LOT of AUR with nothing to spend it on.

To give an example of what am talking about, the Flying Scotsman proto assault came with

 2 shield rechargers, 1 complex 1 enhanced,
 2 shield extenders 1 complex 1 enhanced,
 TAC AR,
ScR Pistol (the awesome singtear oddly enough)
 complex nanohive,
 STD locus nade,
 Complex CPU/PGRID/Regulator

I dont care how you dice it, but a suit with over 100 cpu and AFAIR 40 pgrid spare shouldnt be sold for real cash. Apart from the awesome looking suit and sidearm, its all trash. CCP humped the playerbase over fits like this.

 Just not cool.

On every fit you need to modify it to some extent to make it viable unless you simply dont GAF.

The raven bpo hasnt changed, but it does now look pretty near indistinguishable to the caldari faction suits. Guess if you want a raven you can spank your AUR on those caldari packs.

Ya know, I'd pay AUR for unlimited use of an item for a week. Like a STD level HMG so I can participate in the Mauler event. I don't have skill in heavy weapons, and I'm not going to bother permanently skilling into them just for this event. But if I could have infinity HMGs for a week, that would get me to at least try the heavy suit. (I know the forge gun has a MLT variant, but I am balls at forge gun sniping.)

Give me a week of Plasma Cannon, a week of Dropship, a week of Flaylock Pistol... Not a true BPO, but definitely let people play with the item without fear of "OMG I only have 50 deaths to figure out how to use this thing."

that's what made me buy it in the first place.

What's wrong with BPOs? I mean anyone whose been playing this game for a while will be using proto so I don't see what the problem is. Did ccp give a reason?

Did they force anybody to buy those packs? Did they hide anything about those packs? They even gave the Hoplon pack for PS+ subs for free. And I liked that pack.

Packages of pre-fitted suits are bad, for several reasons really, and those war kits were terribad. Not in concept, but in execution.

For one, the price of those packages was too high. They were ridiculous for consumable items and a measly 3-day active booster. Consumable items should be relatively cheap, I would enjoy them much more if it didnGÇÖt cost me an arm and a leg. I wouldnGÇÖt mind blowing them all in one week, if it only cost me 5.00Gé¼.

Second issue is that they require skill points to use. If you have one skill that is not up to par, you cannot use the suit. As far as I know, this was not advertised particularly well. Out of the cheapest kit (Hoplon I think, which due to a whoopsie I now have) I can only use 2 sets of suits (Rattati and FoxFour). Six sets of suits and vehicles are completely useless to me unless I sacrifice skill points in the relevant sills. And they require a lot of SP, the skills are not restricted to suits only, I would also need to spend them on core skills and vehicle operation. So had I spent 20,00Gé¼ on this, I would be pretty irritated.

These kits were overpriced and not even long time players could get much use out of them. Imagine new players investing their skill points to make any use of these? I cannot even drive that damn Saga unless I remove 99% of the mods fitted.

So, CCP, in the future make the packages cheap and usable by all. Or separate them by race/role, make a package that has 5 differently fitted Gallente assault suits for example (and same for every race). This way you can buy the one you know you can use.

The market is showing Faction Packs but it links to PSN which isn't showing them for me yet (US market). I asked CCP Saberwing and he said he'd check on them in the morning. Sounds like another case of things happening and the community team not being informed.

This isn't ment towards you just wanted to quote this tho.
