1.Sniper range is 600m max its the safest and most oppurtune place to utilize the sniper rifles range/zoom.so they are in the redline
2.distance makes it hard to be killed by the enemy.
3. avoiding the sniper is relativley simple. hes at one end of the map and cant manouvre to finish you off very well. so you pracitcally have a whole maps worth of cover.
4.snipers have limited fields of view. so basically the same as 3.
5.sniper rifles are still sueing old hit deteciton (they dont track targets and must be direct hits.
6.we have a hit marker glitch. if we see youa dn fire sometimes no marker shows up so we take shots at you untill you die.
7.your lucky sniper rifles arent as strong as they were.
8. snipers use the redline since its eaiser than being out in the open were return fire form enemy rifles can quickly obliterate them
9. over half the maps are bad for snipeing on
i could go on and on. but this sums up (simply) why snipers sit in the redline and how ridiculosly easy it is to avoid them. |

agreed. those r reasons y. along with those pesky HAV's in the middle of the battlefield. alot also do it to make some sort of profit in one-sided battles.
i dont usually redline because the spots people use to snipe behing them are soooo obvious. i sit for a couple minutes to make some kills, then i move my position using cover where ever possible. once you figure out all the redline spots on each map, another way to stop redliners would be to simply looks in those places an kill them. if you cannot find them in the common redlining spots, chance are, they arent redlining. stop whining about people 'redlining' when they arent doing so.

Also the fact that at medium range the sniper is totally useless when things like the rail rifle are about.
Also add to the fact that our mercs , while supposedly advanced super augmented soldiers, cant even shoot standing up to save their life. Its horrible. No wonder 99% of snipers are red line cowards.

Sniper rifle has no hipfire, if it did you'd see it used at closer ranges more often - maybe if the tactical sniper had shorter range (400m) but okay-ish hipfire you'd see it used at closer ranges, especially by commando's |

hipfire wouldnt do much for a gun that basically shoots one shot at a time.
