Just wondering, People always ask the question of why Something is overpowered, or why it's poop. But just as a conversational starter, let me ask the true thing you all should think about.
Why not leave some of these things where they are and see what happens, if only as an experiment?
Do not complain if you have never done anything about it.

- Tactical Assault Rifles
- Logistics LAV
- Uprising 1.8 HAVs
- Rail Rifles
- Combat Rifles
- etc, etc, etc...

Lol I loved Logi LAV's. Only thing they had to do was bump passive resistance down. Shield Logi LAV's in particular, lol 30% was too much

Atim actually no. Would the original tac really be that bad with the RR in the game. THE LLAV would be very useful right for AV to use and tank hunt.
I would rather look bad and win, than look good and lose.

Interestingly enough, FOTMs tend to show up late; with RRs and CBRs being an exception to the rule.
TAC ARs were fine until they were seen to be exploitable Laser rifles weren't noticed to be broken until over a month into the build they were released in Before uprising (when the skill requirements were lessened and they were popularized), I drove LLAVs, and never lost a single one unless I crashed it, got shot out of the driver's seat by a super-AI turret or it got stuck. Mass drivers and forge guns have had a lot of "monkey see monkey do" moments where their effectiveness never really changed, but the community flocked to them once they started seeing them be used

NEW IDEA. Cut tank regen, add Logi LAV & Remote repair mods back. Boom. Balance.
Lol probably sounds dumb but I like my idea

They were still OP. The LLAVs being overpowered were just overshadowed by AV being OP.

Easy Atiim. I like my GLU-Tactical. Its hard to use but I like it a lot. Nothing wrong with the CR either. Its made for scouts. The RR was made for LOGIS. They need a weapon that's good at hang back and support and CQC if enemies get too close. Because of they're one weapons slot they needed a versatile weapon. CRs for scouts only, RR for Logis only. It makes sense.

This highlights the real problem with balance in Dust. That being:
The game is so incomplete! Balance is a waste of development resources if a whole crate of new items, suits, weapons, etc... are getting added every build. Major changes to dropsuit skills 10 months after release? Adding in half the racial dropsuits at 10 months? Adding varietal rifles after 6 months?
The nature of MMOs is that they develop over time and new items and weapons get added, but that is assuming the game feels and plays like it is finished at launch. Dust had half or less than the features it will have at 10 months after launch. Nobody with a brain will say Dust was finished on May 14th of 2013. At this rate, it might be ready for serious balancing around May 14th of 2014.
That is to say enough of the weapons, suits, items and vehicles will be in that balancing isn't just a band-aid until the next build.
I don't agree with the OP, despite what I've said, though. Just leaving everything would be a disaster and essentially make the game unplayable until all the items/weapons are in. For example, the "original TAC" at launch was a semi auto short range sniper rifle. The 6 or 7 months of play between then and the introduction of the RR would have made Dust even more of a ghost town than it already is.
Even if they came in at the same time...they would both just be OP. Pick a Tac AR or a RR and win. So they can take each other out equally...so what? That isn't balance. They would still obsolete the AR and make most medium or lower range weapon users groan.
The Logi LAV would be another invitation to murder taxi-ing and make Heavies the only sensible suit to run.
God damn can you imagine a Heavy with a RR riding around in the 1.5 LLAV? Holy bullshit, Batman! |

It makes sense. And if you notice how quiet the CRs are? For stealth = scouts. The only problem is everyone and there heavy uses one unnecessarily. Maybe my brain is too rigid [been told that WAY too much] But to me it makes sense.
I just... I don't even know where to begin with this one...
Not to be rude but I will put it simply; No. These rifles were not and should not be designed with this in mind; this game is supposed to be all about finding the weapon and suit that mix well together AND fit your playstyle, not putting up so many walls and restrictions on weapons, excluding the heavy category, so that they can only be fit on certain suits to make up for the suits weaknesses.
The rifles are supposed to work with any suit, being overall good while excelling at certain circumstances. The imbalance we have when talking about one races rifle vs another comes from rifles like the RR and CR being too good in ALL situations and having no inherent weakness or counter besides themselves; not to mention this is the case with all four rifles vs most other weapons.
I would go more into detail as I do with my other posts, but I just don't think I should need to with this. Try to look at the customization DUST offers in a more open manner and imagine the potential it has compared to other much more bland games, rather then how many ways you think it needs tied and restricted.
