CCP once promised us an update a month. They told us about the great agreement with Sony for faster releases on the PSN.
Then the updates were slightly better bugfixes and new equipment was the same known **** with just another paint.
Then with 1.7 they balanced the game to death.
And now it feels that they don't talk to us anymore.
Lame feedback, no announcements for the new and long promised things.
Is that the new strategy after some job rotations?
Is that really all?
And please don't tell us, that there is not enough time because of the happy happy come together in iceland. Most of us haven't asked for it.
Frustrating!!!
Why I still play it? ... My teammates ... but I stopped buying AUR until there is a real new worthy update.
Wake up CCP ... talk to your customers! Make the game worth still playing it and waiting for new things.

They've released stats for equipment, dropsuits and new weapons but that's about it.
I'd like to see how they plan on dealing with the tank situation and rather or rather not they're going to make heavies invincible. |

They took a break over Christmas which is pretty understandable, And the fact they have released stats while delaying with release Is most likely because they are working on getting ALL the suits ready
We've waited over a year for this, I don't want to see a rush job

Takes a lot of time to get new weapons and all of the new suits in and balanced. Plus a bunch of fixes and the like. I suspect they took an extra month just to plan and get reorganized.
I think the result will be good. Sucks waiting so long for 1.8, but it'll be here in a few weeks hopefully and we'll get back to the 4-6 week cycles again.
It's also been interesting to see how the game has evolved since 1.7 dropped without any major updates. Tank spam has shifted a bit from the drop to now as people have learned how to use and counter them, and FW has settled out in unexpected ways. I can't believe nobody wants to fight for the Caldari: RR is the FOTM and the only way to get missiles on your militia tank without spending a fair amount of SP is Caldari LP. Pretty unexpected. |

The next update is larger.
I suppose you want 1.7/1.8 sized updates every month, though. News flash - It's not happening. What did you expect?
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Remember folks the previous roadmap that was doing the monthly updates is now mostly over. So monthly updates may or may not be a thing anymore.

At least ... a short statement from the DEVs. Something like ... next update will take some more time because of ... and then some teasers. Something like this ... that isn't to much, isn't it? |

Its not the lack of frequent updates that bothers me, it is the lack of information and discussion. I understand they are taking a new look at the direction of dust, and I appreciate CCP giving us the info on 1.8 when they did.
I just hope these large chunks of radio silence from CCP are a temporary byproduct of the discussions that are going on, and not something new going forward.

even after all this time, its best best map by far Dust has had so far. ******* shambolic we dont have a rush mode and CCP sitting on their hands doing nothing to bring it back in a timely fashion. |

I wrote about the updates as an example that they are talking one thing and doing the other. I don't care if they need 4-6 or 6-8 weeks for an update. No one wants a rush job. That's for sure.
My main complain was about the lack of information too.
You explained it in another way but thanks. |

Monthly updates were never said to be permanent.
1.8 will have Caldari, Gallente, and Minmatar heavis/sentinels/commandos. Caldari and Amarr lights/scouts as well. Changes to existing dropsuit bonuses. Weapon rebalancing for RR, LR, MD, and CR 3 new sidearms: magsec SMG, ion pistol, and bolt pistol.

We've waited over a year for this, I don't want to see a rush job i agree let them take their time so the game doesn't get any worse with the next patch like it normally does

I just hope these large chunks of radio silence from CCP are a temporary byproduct of the discussions that are going on, and not something new going forward. Actually they've shared a bunch of content and ideas for Uprising 1.8 ahead of time. If the original Assault Frame bonuses had gone through this would have fundamentally been a different game. This really is the first time they aren't treating us like mushrooms.
I defiantly agree that the "radio silence" on some topics is because the Dev Team is still hammering ideas out.
If you're dying for more info jump on IRC and socialize, allot.

I did address and show appreciation for the 1.8 stats. That was huge, but also seems forever ago. The Barbershop got banished largely because it first exploded with 1.8 stat discussion, then gradually got off topic for lack of information.
I feel like IRC is a bad way for CCP to give out info. It would seem easy for them to leak something that wasn't intended to be out yet, and is reaches too few mercs.
I don't even care if the information they give out non essential information (like former art concepts, etc).

Well they have a lot of good things linded up for patch 1.8 so it no surprise that they won't releases any of it in till after Fanfest. That way they have something to shout about at Fanfest even though we as players know it's all bullshit.

They took their time balancing the different races' assault rifles, and look how well that turned out. The vehicle re-balancing was extended, what, 2-3 patches and we then got 1.7.
...yeah, ok, maybe without the balancing things would be even worse, and at least they are trying ;).

Ever since uprising 1.0 (for which I had high hopes I might add) my only wish is that a new patch won't ruin things completely. If there's something nice in it, well, then that's a pleasant bonus ;). |
