Dear CCP,
I have been playing Dust 514 since June 28th, 2013. This game was really hard to play when I first started but trial by fire and I'm now enjoying a KDR in the black, a win ratio in the black and the dual SMG's I run because they truly are superior CQC weapons.
I have also started playing EVE Online. I am now paying you a monthly subscription to play in your world. I feel like the price I am paying is fair for what I get in return on principal. However, I feel like you are making a lot of mistakes.
I realize you're told every day about the mistakes within EVE and Dust. But you created an amazing universe that people genuinely love. You attract RPG players and MMORPG with EVE and Dust and you attract FPS players with Dust. You have a good thing going....but there are so many problems.
However, I'm not going to get into any of that. I'm just going to simply ask you to try to make both games better. I don't know what's wrong with EVE because I haven't played it but just two weeks maybe? I love it. But I can tell you what's wrong with Dust all day long.
I'm just pleading to you, please fix and improve Dust. Please tie both games together more. We need isk transfers from EVE to Dust or at least give EVE pilots the ability to mine and get blueprints for dropsuits, vehicles, weapons, modules, ect. I would love to spend all day at work mining while I work on my laptop and then be able to manufacture say 5,000 copies of my Amarr AK.0 logistics dropsuit or 5,000 copies of my Six Kin Assault Submachine guns. I would LOVE to be able to build remote explosives in EVE to blow people up with in Dust.
But the planet locking thing in PC allows people to be cowards. I've heard that 2.0 time you will remove that, but that's just a rumor I've heard.
PLEASE REMOVE THE ABILITY FOR PEOPLE TO ACT COWARDLY IN THESE GAMES.
Redline sniping, 5 tanks on the field, redline tank sniping, horrible TTK that render the RPG options (shield extenders, armor plating, ect) useless.
and can we PLEASE get a slot on dropsuits dedicated to ONLY damage mods? Its ridiculous to be able to put 3x complex damage mods on your dropsuit. That makes the game unbalanced. Its ridiculous for tanks to be able to triple stack hardners. That makes the game unbalanced.
Play Battlefield...tanks are formidable, tanks are vicious and serious threats, but they can be blown up with a little bit of cunning awesomeness. They also aren't 70,000mph and able to jump hills like dirt bikes either.
Please CCP....please do the right thing. Common sense should dictate to you what is right and what is wrong and doing the right thing is NEVER wrong.

Ignoring most of your post, since the forum clearly asks that you do NOT make lists of suggestions, one thing jumps out at me that I will not let slide: Fast TTK is not rendering tank modules useless, and anyone who says so is delusional. If you think tank modules are useless, all I can do is point to Ck.0 and Gk.0 logis and say, "no." |

+1 you're right Michael Epic. Screw the rules, which simply make it to where one can't point out the obvious. TTK is absolutely rediculous?! Not saying resticting damage mods should be the answer, since that's the only way for new players to kill old ones, but I would be so bold to suggest giving players more bang for thier buck on shields and armor! If your a ground troop everythjng takes you out far to easy. The weapons of dust are, in that respect, too powerful. Lets up the overall HP since everyone is hell bent on OP weaponry.
Heavies aren't heavies anymore. I can honestly go head to head with an advanced heavy in my advanced gallente with advance armor and and advanced dmg mods on a gek-38. Toe-to-toe! Most of the time they get me, and that situation only transpires when you bend the corner, with no scan, and there he is. I have held my own with a flux and a gek. If a logi is with me he's a goner, and honestly has a better shot with a rail rifle than the hmg smh?!
Since the weapons have been boosted, and tanks are rediculous, lets give our ground troops longer TTK. Another 500 HP so players have a chance to react to these beastly weapons. I think that may have been the problem all along. OP weapons are only considered OP when players realize there is no logical alternative to counter or escape utter annihilation. If they could atleast get time to take cover from it until back up arrives they may not complain about any rifle.
If they could survive long enough to get atleast one swarm volley or forge shot off, tanks might not get such a bad rap. I have to get light and fast to stay in range with swarms making it a one shot kill for a blaster tank to kill me. That fit cost 75,000 isk which is around the cost of most militia blaster tanks, and I'll die multiple times before he goes once. Tankers seem to miss that part when their arguing that tanks aren't OP or too fast lol?!
I salute any player with the balls to say what isn't popular. Michael Epic and many others have been called cryers and worse for not joining the fotm crew. Instead they have considered the new players in the game, and decided to tell vets to find their honor. TTK is too low. This is fact.

Eve isn't broken, my ships still fly backwards every once in a while but isn't that being optimized by removing the reverse gear in my starship transmission?
Note to self reading patch notes disappoints me every time, still waiting to get PVE and a Market, Open World, All Racial suits, world peace and a game that doesn't resemble COD.

+1 To Michel also. I started playing Dust right after it came out on PS3. I may not be the best at this game, but I have improved a hell of a lot from where I was when I started. Likewise, all the jerks spouting off about "getting good" can STFU.
I think the game was improving from the time I started playing up until the release of 1.7. Right before 1.7 I could use a GEK and starter fit and do pretty well. If I did that now I would get nowhere. I had to respect into a new weapon to be competitive again. Makes no sense, to make one weapon obsolete by introducing another. (And yes, I know people still use the assault rifle, but not as many as there used to be.)
I guess what Im trying to say, is that I used to be a team player, but now I just do whatever I want (except steal your vehicle) and get my points however. I don't care if my team wins or loses, I just want my SP, ISK, & K/D R. I will tank spam, protostomp, redline snipe, uplink spam, AFK.....whatever.
And, that is the state that Dust is in now. |

I'm sure it occurs to them...but we have no patch notes on 1.8 and no explanation from them. Hell, all they would have to do is post a thread that said "Hey guys, we know you hated 1.7 and we realize the tanks are ridiculous and we're busting our butts each day to fix it"
That sentence right there would restore faith in the game and surely turn a large chunk of the bitter community around and there would be hope again.
*looks in forums* I see no such thing...nobody has a clue what is going on but 1.7 is, was and will forever be remembered as a disaster.
They fired the director over it, for pete's sakes. That's the little bit that allows me to hold on. |
