CCP said something about bubble shields before. Maybe at Fanfest? I think it twas announced with cloaking.
I mean cloaking is cool.....
But bubble shields is freaking epic :)

I think I'm the only person still waiting for mechs/giant robot killing machines.....

90% resistance on armor but you stay 100% stationary, and can't fire. 
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

It's a Halo thing. Probably referenced because the bubble shield was also a Halo thing.
Dren and Templar equipment stats, wrong since release.

This would solve alot of our tank and sniper problems to be honest...
I just wish we had a way to protect ourselves while hacking an objective, so a sniper can't pick you off or a tank can't roll up behind you and stick his giant turret up your A**. Yeah remember that old tanker come back of "But we can't hack objectives! So we're balanced and stuff!" oh yeah? Well neither can I cause some A**hole with a thale or railgun keeps picking me off from the opposite side of the map...
That or you know... Some better designed objectives! I mean seriously... Who in their right mind would go "Ok guys! Let's build a control panel for these NULL canons and put it in the easiest to see and reach place!" -_-; Thank god for the few objectives that are intellectually designed, else this might kill the game for me.

Dust needs bubble shields. They should make it so that it is a equipment slot, but it can be moved around. The standard version could be like a large riot shield, the advanced could cover most of the player, and the proto would be a complete bubble.
