The title is self-explanatory. I can understand why it exists (people who play this game days straight will be legions ahead those who have to work), but once players cap out, they rarely have any inclination to continue playing. I do anyway, but removing the SP Cap would give slightly more inclination to keep playing. If there are any other arguments against this, I am all for listening.

The hardcore players will always be ahead of everyone else, cap or not. The cap only hurts new players and/or characters... but it probably encourages booster sales. |

I would Hate having the cap removed, and it probably won't be removed for the sake that CCP wants it to take 7 years+ to skill everything in DUST.
Just imagine the no-lifers with 40 mil SP. *Shivers*

With a comma, it's a question asking for reasoned debate about SP caps.
Without a comma, it's a proposal for genocide.

The cap makes 0 sense,if i'm willing to put the effort in i should be rewarded for it. For those that would complain,no one is forcing you to play. And if you say they are your just being a baby, work should equal reward.

I play Dust fairly regularly, and never even come close to the cap.
It is designed to place an upper limit on how many sp you can have restricted by age.
Deal with it, and go get a job. |

Don't have to imagine. I play against folks who are closer to 40M than 20M every day. There is no stopping the people who are that obsessed. |

Lol I am working on getting a job, and I do realize not everyone has the time to play this game. The booster thing is a good point of as well.
However, I do have to agree with the argument, if you earn money, you could theoretically put it towards Aurum that doesn't need SP, or use Passive skill boosters. Therefore, people who can have Omega boosters running can outpace people grind I believe.

The Eristic covered it best. The reason it makes sense is because it encourages booster sales, which helps keep this game free for everyone else.
Also, some people (such as myself, when I happen to cap out) switch to their alt toons that have way less SP, and play with those toons, which would otherwise get no love if the cap was removed. |
