The current event requires that you get kills with a HMG/Forgegun. This is problematic cause in the militia store there only exists the militia forgegun which is not ideal to kill infantry. The thing is you need to lvl up heavy weapons first to unlock the HMG+forgegun skillbooks and then you have to lvl up those skills aswell. Some people aint gonna like it but i want a militia HMG. But thats not all i want that every weapon should have a militia counterpart which is quite cheap. Just think of it that you tell a mate about this event and he wants to try out dust. Unfortuneately due to the existant mechanics he cant participate in the event. So please add more militia equipment on the market.

Go win some FW for Minmatar, get Republic HMG, make Heavy suit, die because you have no clue what is going on, put RR on Heavy suit, kill Heavies.

Has anyone else noticed a stark increase in Heavies with RRs, I'm assuming they are going for the "kill heavies" part of the event, or are confused on what they are supposed to actually be doing...

But, yes, no Militia variant of the HMG is stupid.

Even if you only put one point into HMG just to do that side of the event, you still can't use the rewards, you have to get to lvl 3(?) to use the aurum proto HMG

Okay? You can't have it all, ya know. So you want to have more militia stuff that's high in PG and CPU costs? It doesn't take long to skill into the regular version that's not militia but cheaper on the PG and CPU

Still get 750k if you can kill 1500 people with HMGs.

1.5 mil if those 1500 kills happen to be fatties.

But yeah, I had zero points in heavy weapons but I put some in for the event. I figured its like getting free points for the HMG if I can enough. I'm somewhere around 300, that's 150,000 bonus SP and 300 Proto AUR HMGs.

Factional Warfare. Amarr and Minmatar, win a few games, then enjoy event. That's what I'm doing anyways, only running a basic heavy frame with a republic HMG and I'm doing fine... well, aside from missing my scout and nova knives.

But yes, the fact that there are no Militia Variants for so many weapons is a shame.

You need at least 1000 kills with a heavy weapon. That might be manageable. But you need 3000 heavy kills to cap on the event. That's not including all the regular kills you'll get in between them.

So let's be generous and say 1 in 4 kills is a heavy, that's 12,000 kills a player would have to get, vs 1000.

 Fair?

You need weaponary 5, heavy weapons on 1 and HMG at 1 to wield a HMG. Weaponary on 5 alone are 310k SP which is alot for a new player. And i do have a proto heavy,HMG and forgegun so please stop telling me that i should save some SP for those skills. And by "doing the event" i mean that you are in a fatsuit with a HMG cause you get 500SP per kill and not just 250SP for killing a heavy. So if you have a HMG and kill a other heavy with that you earn 750SP thats 3 times more as if you would use a medium/light frame suit.

I don't agree, even if HMG is more useful in gunfights, the forgegun is not that bad for ranged fights, it's like going to hunt birds with a bazooka but it works.
BTW, they can use LP hmg like i do.

Yes, we need every module, equipment, and weapon to have a militia variant. This would allow new players to try out what stuff they like to use without spending SP in them and putting it into their core skills.

Heavies in this game need to start out heavy and dedicate sp. Easiest way is to run mlt suit at first and put all your sp toward the hmg.

For this event you can go mlt heavy/ mlt fg, for 0 sp investment.

I forgot about the damn weapon rewards. I'm such a scrub.
