I was looking at the HK4M shotgun on my logi and noticed they looked really good together (both being yellow) then i came up with this idea. Why not have role based weapons that give bonuses to their designated suit? Logi (yellow) weapons- higher capacity Assault (white) weapons -higher DPS Sentinel (green) weapons- more rounds per magazine Scout (black?) weapons - faster ROF Commando (red) weapons - faster reload Medium/General heavies (grey) weapons- Current weapons (?,sorta drawing a blank with this one)
The bonuses would only work on their assigned suit (suit of matching color). This would prevent classes from stepping on eachothers toes. All it would take is weapon recoloring and stat tweaking. All classes would have access to all weapons (except where limited,HMG on a scout for example),but the bonuses would only work with the suit it's designed for (a logi can't equip an assault weapon and get a DPS bonus,and assaults can't equip logi weapons and get a higher capacity).
Only users lose drugs.

Ehh, seems kind of gimmicky to me. I'd like to have cool colors, but if we're doing class-based bonuses like this, why not just build them into the suit class instead? |

Assaults (and commandos) are meant to be offensive capabilities, their weapons. Thus they have bonuses to their weapons. If everyone could get weapon bonuses through these role weapons, then it cheapens it. Not everyone's role is about weapons, so everyone having bonuses specific to weapons doesn't fit.
Commandos are already getting a reload bonus, so that's pretty redundant.
Scouts are blue.
A ROF bonus is a DPS bonus (shoot more per second = do more damage per second). It further steals the role of the assaults (and commandos) even more than the general idea already does.
I don't see why basic lights/mediums/heavies would need their own roe weapons since they're (supposed) to just be more generalized with less of a specific role (unlike specialized suits like assaults, logis, etc).
I admire the creativity, and the idea has a certain allure to it, but I won't support this as long it allows other roles encroach upon the purpose of assaults and commandos, which is being good with weapons.
Likewise, if you proposed role-specific equipment that received bonuses from their corresponding dropsuit specializations, I would be against it, because equipment is the role of logis (with the exception of the upcoming cloak), and it would cheapen the logi's role.
