Agreed.
I would much rather have giant red letters half the size of the screen scroll across with the full message saying downtime is coming than that stupid pop up.
But really it should just be a warning when you hit the battle finder starting like 30 minutes out that says how long until downtime and then the pop up 5 minutes before shut down so that it does not take you totally by surprise.

You would Think they are smart enough to figure out a solution like yours.. They get paid and yet you give them the ideas. Yet they still do the stupidest things.

I really don't think they even read the ideas on the forums and/or pass them to the decision makers. I have personally proposed and seen others propose fixes to the academy, the skill point cap, downtime message(here), and fixes for many other problems that alot of people here on the forums corrected some flaws in the ideas and turned them into seriously awesome stuff that would improve this game with no response.
From this I have given in to the fact that CCP is just going to do whatever they want and believe that we are happy with that until login counts drop below their base stagnant levels.

Its just another sign CCP really are fumbling around as they make this game.
Why on earth it is not just a passive 'info box' that is displayed at the top of the screen I dont know. Why the hell does it have to come right into the middle of the screen and require that you acknowledge it before you can carry on with the game?
A simple scrolling message at the top of the screen would suffice!
Jesus CCP, It really is hard to continue to support this game with the huge amount of bad calls that you make. This game is a beta game at best. If 1.8 does not REALLY turn the tides then I'm off and I would not be surprised if this game starts to die shortly after 1.8 drops. (That's assuming that 1.8 is as lack lustre as everything else.)

It really did, it only shows the disdain for CCP and how everything has worked out in Dust how quick it turned to bad mouthing of them for not being able to change something so simple.
The downtime alerts have been brought up several times before and I have even seen dev and cpm responses on it saying they were looking into different ways to do it (IF I remember correctly this was about 4 months ago but I can not find the thread) |
