Over the last few days especially I have noticed that most new players do not know how to send messages, apply to corporations, how to use the chat channels or how to use their mics.
I request that a tutorial on these be added in game.
Also I would like any player joining a battle to be automatically put into a squad with the option to leave. this will hopefully increase squad play and teamwork and could mean that even the protostompers could be orbitaled. This makes for a more even game and could lead to less redlining.

And for Tiericide. Or fixed matchmaking.
But what you said is important too. Very important.

As someone relatively new to the game I agree with this. Since figuring out how to activate voice and being able to chat with other players I've had a whole lot more fun even in pub matches.
I just wish more people had mics. Or am I not in the right chat channels? |

I agree with all but this part. Farming commission from players you potentially don't know is something only a greedy bastard would desire.

So as per standing forum rules this post is ok.
This part isn't about farming points for Squad Leaders, it's about evening things up between teams. How many times have you ever gotten a solo orbital? In MAG, for example, you were always 'forced' into a squad/platoon because having communication with the other members made the squad-based game more enjoyable. In DUST we can appreciate the same communications bonus as well as the overarching 'squadpoints to orbitals' feature. If you've ever been on the receiving end of a 6-man stomp, you can easily see why this would be a good idea. If one team gets orbital after orbital and keeps snowballing while the other team hasn't got any squads to even try to earn one, it's obvious who's going to win.
Plus, you can make friends and join corps of like-mindind mercs by being forced into close proximity of them. Not everyone uses the forums.

I request that a tutorial on these be added in game. Saying this as someone who's been a (psudo) teacher in a learning-corp for the last year: The voice-comms situation is by far one of the most obscure things for a new player to figure out on their own, and most difficult thing for a veteran to teach.
I think you can imagine how tricky it is when the only tool-in-my-belt to fix a problem is communication, and their problem is they can't communicate. :\ |
