Or are they incredibly fun?
I usually play Logi to support a squad but decided to try out a Heavy for the event. While it took a few matches to adjust (didn't take long to realise space was my enemy) I was having a hell of a time mowing people down. The ability to hold an objective solo, watching people turn a corner and flee as they hear my HMG spinning. Not to mention going toe-to-toe with another Heavy, listening to the sheer mass of bullets hitting us both. Causing so much mayhem in an area the enemy has to Zerg or OB you to turn the tide.
I am by no means saying I am a Heavy Pro, I am running a 10k MLT/Basic fit, died plenty and have more to learn about the role. Just wanted to share my new-found love for the role in the past few days. Even though I have only played Heavy for a few days, it has been enough to make me want to skill into Gallente Heavy come 1.8. Either as a second suit, or a third if we don't get a SP refund.
On a side note, why do people complain about the HMG? It works perfectly as it is, any more range and you might as well be firing a CR/RR. Oh............ |

I've been running solo too, just chasing the action or letting it come to me. Love meeting another heavy, had a 1on1 that started way out of range. Sprinting (well, waddling) towards each other, having to judge when to start firing. He won, I forgot to reload after my last fire-fight |

Oh............ yeh all the starter fits are having a HELL OF A TIME facing 5 or 6 heavies at once. the spam has been unbearable but has made for some good games with the laser rifle
Granted the Heavy squads might be a tad much, but what else do you expect in a suit-based event? Also I have been running a MLT/Basic Heavy while solo. Not like I'm stacking the odds is it? |
