Confirming GOTDUST is legit, at least in my dealings with him. He offered a LAV BPO for 75m ISK. I offered to buy it and he said he would make a thread in the Code Bazaar. That checks out. I didn't have enough ISK.
If anyone ever offers to buy/sell an item code, advertize it anywhere, but do the actual deal in the Code Bazaar forum, which protects you from scams. GOTDUST offered to do the deal in the Code Bazaar forum, and so he checks out.
As far as the code being expired, if someone offers to sell a code in the Bazaar and it turns out to be expired, well guess what? That's a scam. And scamming item codes is against the rules. CCP will set things right. Of all the scams to be worried about, this one isn't worth a second that.
Bottom Line: Do all Item Code transactions in the Code Bazaar forum for scam protection.

I do feel bad that I unintentionally lost someone a BPO LAV, but hey, it is what it is.
Let this thread be a lesson to anyone looking to buy or sell codes: Do it in the Code Bazaar so that way you have CCP behind you every step of the way.

I already have a Guristas BPO so was thinking on selling it to a corp mate cheap but then I came back and he already redeemed it. As an ADS pilot the ISK would have been infinitely more useful to me lol.
