So, I'm not sure if this has been done before or not; but I've had a faction for some time now due to playing with a few friends when the game first went open beta. Most of them stopped playing, and I just recently got back into the game myself and still find myself with a corporation capable of accepting quite a few members.
My idea is more of a passive competition then an actual organized corporation, though through the system that I'm about to outline, friendships and squads etc can still be forged.
I was thinking about the tax system, and how that's the sole reason I haven't joined a corp, why the hell should I give an organization my hard earned credits when there's a good chance my individual actions aren't going to be recognized; especially joining some of the less reputable organizations that a game as easy to make a faction in spawns.
Why deal with power struggles, why deal with people who get a hard-on for being the "leader" of a bunch of strangers?
So here's the deal, Let's say the corporation tax is 10%, and depending on the match; your average winnings are around 150,000 (for easy math purposes) That means that you're contributing 15,000 per match, and if you played ten matches that would be 150,000.
If ten people played ten matches, that would be 1,500,000 contributed to the faction.
My idea is, at the end of the week; Whoever contributed the most to the tax fund of the faction wins 50% of the pot. The other 25% is disbursed evenly amongst the rest of the faction members. I will be excluded from the competition, as I will be the one handling the money and wish it to be fair. The other 25% will be used for faction expansion (Which will be voted upon) and whatever is left will be added to the pot for the next week. Which means that over time, the pot will continue to get bigger and bigger.
For accountability, each member would be required to check in with the forums or some equally simple means. (But scheduled meetings will probably be a no-go, as I'd like to be able to include people of all walks of life/schedules)
Again, a quick breakdown. At 10% with an average of 150,000 per round, you would contribute 15,000 per round. You play ten games, you have just thrown 150,000 into the pot. If everyone plays a minimum of ten games, the pot is now up to 1,500,000
If you contributed the most, you've won 750,000. That's 600,000 more then you'd of contributed. If you didn't win, you still win a percentage back.
Winnings will be tallied on a weekly basis, so obviously the pot will be far greater than 1.5 mil
If anyone thinks this is a good idea, or has any questions please hit me up in game or post on here. I won't enable the tax until we have enough people to make this a viable option, so you can join the corp at any time during these beginning stages without worries of wasting money or being way behind in the first run of this system.
Also, the stakes can be raised or lowered as long as a majority vote within the corporation is held, I was using 10% as a jump off point but as of right now it's the number I'd like to use. |
