I currently use the Neo Scout M-1, NT-511 Sniper rifle, hacked nano-hive. The two questions I have on gear are..
1. Precision Enhancer - does that mean I get a red arrow for them at longer distance? 2. Profile Dampener - Do they have to be closer to me for their red arrow to appear over me?
Kind of confused it it only deals with the profile scanner tool. |

1. helps your passive scan (enemies showing up on your minimap) 2. decreases your scan profile which makes you harder to scan

IIRC, a Precision Enhancer increases the level of precision that your passive scans (scans from your dropsuit that reveal enemies on the minimap) at the cost of increasing your dropsuit scan profile. If this is incorrect, anyone feel free to say I'm wrong.
Profile Dampeners reduce your scan profile. So, if you have a Profile Dampener that reduces your scan precision by enough, you can go unnoticed on enemy active scans (the Active Scanner equipment) and passive scans depending on the suit.
For a Scout Sniper, fitting these depends on where you are on the battlefield. Although, I'd recommend using a Shield Extender for that high slot you have on your scout suit (it has one high slot right?). The Profile Dampeners are very worth it if you're going to be out of the redline, but most people run advanced scanners, so it may take a higher level dampener to get around those.

Profile Dampeners reduce your scan profile, which means that you might be able to go unnoticed by enemy scans.

Fixed Anyways, he said WInmatar scout, so yea, 1 slot. Since he's a sniper, assuming that he moves around sniping, a damage mod would do better than a shield extender. If you keep on moving, they won't be able to find and shoot you, and you'll finish them first. dampeners for the lows though.

Also what is the difference between the rail rifle and the sniper rifle? It seems to do far more than my gun. |

The Rail Rifle has a limited (but still very long...I believe it's affective up to 70 or 80 meters) range compared to the Sniper Rifle. If you want to be more of a frontline warrior, but still stand back from the fight so as not to die in < 1 second like most people, then I'd suggest the Rail Rifle for you.
However, if you want to continue to be able to keep someone off a point at 200+ meters, sniping is for you :D
