and I've already noticed a few trends in most of the topics that I've come across. But the biggest one that really bothers me (as it is the only one I am familiar with) is about the meta/tier system of gear. And the accumulation of SP. Along with the ability to be able to fund those builds you run with.
I have a standard sniper rifle and an aurum armor because I ran out of SP to be able to use the scout suit. Gaining SP is a little slow at times. It may take me more shots to kill a higher tier suit but I can still do it alone. Now if I had a squad I could bring the shields down in one hit and have my squad mates take him out. It is called team work. Situational awareness and tactical ability. What I see here is people want to nerf team work.
Eve has a system in which certain classifications of ships cannot enter the territory of where the new players are at. If they were of the mind they could fit a lesser ship and still win. Why? Because they have the knowledge. Taking away gear does not stop them being a veteran player that knows theirs maps and what they can and cannot do. It may take fewer hits to kill them but a coordinated team is still a team.
They compare this to other shooters as well. CoD has no system what so ever that separates a Prestige 10 from a rank 1. They have access to better weapons and attachments. A squad using only starting gear in that game as well is still a squad. Same with Battlefield there is no separation from new and old or what gear can and cannot be used. Instead of wanting to restrict suits and weapons why not instead get better? Find people to squad with, make friends, team up more than just once and fight back?
My opinion might not be a popular one but after almost 2 days of playing not once have I said "Man those guys beat me just because of their gear" it was more "Damn, I need to find a squad and get better." |

I'm glad to see anybody using their brains. Some of these veteran players even don't have the kind of thinking OP has.

Well said.
There is a subtle difference with Eve which makes it more care bear friendly then Dust.
Standing and Concord provide a fairly good protective (not 100%) for learner pilots also the NPE experience allows time to learn the basics. Mining allows people to earn isk without having to vapourise Rats and noobs.
Heck it would be interesting/bizarre to have contract mine ops from Eve players to defend planet mining sites from drones and rats. |

Thank you for the compliments, though wasn't the motivation for my post ^_^ just something I needed to rant a little about. I've killed 27 and I've died 46/ I have 572k SP and lifetime WP of 3,960. I'm still having fun. Though I don't think I'm ready to join a player corp as my daughter broke my mic so I can't talk at this time. |

You do know BF and CoD do separate low skilled people from high skilled people right? They match you by your KDR not level or prestige. They don't do it through level or prestige because just because you're level 1000 prestige 15 (Yes I know this is an exaggeration and the levels and prestige don't go up that high) doesn't mean you are skilled. All that says is that you have been playing for a while. Also in CoD and BF all of the weapons are evenly matched (Except for a few imbalanced ones). The only advantage an old player gets from leveling up in CoD or BF is different weapons, attatchments, and perks in which everyone can use them once they're level 70. While here in dust you get a limited amount of weapons (Depending on how you spend your sp) and when you skill into them they get exponentially better giving the older players a clear advantage (Much more then cod or bf). |

Eh three are plenty of corps that would take someone with your ambition, but it's up to you to decide when you're ready. Keep fighting the good fight

Join a corp that has like minded players like you and it will better your Dust experience. Nothing like going the corp comms and seeing you got friends that will squad with you whenever.

I think your smart for using a sniper till you have more sp, I started over a yr ago with a scout sniper, uplinks an knives,
Even if I played solo I had a system to help my team, I ran in and hacked everything I could, home base letter and cru, then I put uplink in the best sniper spot, then I would switch to my LOGI fit and dump equip ( I had a level 1, scout, LOGI and heavy in the beginning ) so I could scout, deploy hives and rep people, and set up a sniper nest with hives an links, then I would snipe with a heavy or LOGI , cuz snipping was better then in a sence as far as maps went and gun damage.
But that's good that you have the hang of it so early, some just get it |

I'm just going to throw this out there, as I have far more experience.
I've had times where a proto user misses a ton of shots, then once their random spraying finally hits me, I'm dead in absolutely no time at all.
The only thing keeping those people alive is their gear, and the only way to take them down is with a surprise shotgun blast or sniper round to the head.
