Well, right when I thought some of the technical issues in this game couldn't get much worse, they did.
Yesterday I was in a domination match, the one where it takes forever to get to Alpha on foot and you have to go through the valleys to get there. Well, the other side had three tanks on the field, so I decided I'd bring in my particle cannon gunlogi to get rid of them.
Tank spawns in, I check the map overview to see where enemy tanks are. I see they're kind of by the main roads so I decide I'll go way down and around the back. Started to go down the road and went through the boundary redline a bit and started to drive through a complex that was way out from Alpha. I get through the complex, but wanted to check where the tanks were again so I stopped a bit before the entrance to it. So I push "down" to bring up the "satellite" map and see where they are. I exit the map, and low and behold what do I find? I come back to find myself falling through the road and complex itself down into another graphical layer.
Kept going down, down, down. Was way under the lowest valleys and under all the mountains and eventually down into a cyan colored layer with sketchy outlines of mountains way up above. Fire my particle cannon once, and my tank instantly blows up.
WTH CCP?
It's a trap! In this patch we can't repel firepower of that magnitude! - Admiral Ackbar would say in ambush w Nyain San

This happens if you are on an incline inside of a node, while using a map with a vehicle.
Has been reported for at least 5 months now.

different map, same thing but was in a LAV..
best part is I was stoned on some great weed when it happened...best show ever..

Was the first time it happened to me lol. I've stopped plenty of places before for map checks on all different terrains and never went anywhere. Reminded me of some of the areas in Borderlands where you could go up and through rock structures or way down over cliffs outside of the map level.
