So, what's happening with hit detection? I started noticing something strange since a few days after 1.8, but always thought it depended on my connection. Considering these kind of issue kept happening for weeks and considering I'm not the only one who have noticed it, I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with it.
Last week I noticed a heavy shot misregistration: Halved-damage charged shot, tactical weapons not registering hits etc.
To the community: do you have these kind of issues too, or is it limited to italian crappy internet connection?
To ccp: are you going to do something to improve hit detection?

I had few horrible moments yesterday where I emptied clips into people and all I got was the blue shield flash.

I think hit detection hit the shitter again in 1.7.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

It comes and goes for me, usually thing s are pretty good. But i have had moments since 1.7 where i've unloaded every single round in a damaged amped AR onto scouts and heavies, complete with shield flare and didn't even scratch their sheilds. In those cases i always keep an eye on my target for several second waiting for the server to correct lag but that didn't happen in the cases above.
It's kinda a mystery to me. Best theory i can come up with is i was aiming where they were not really, so when the server did correct it told my client i had been shooting at empty space.
I support SP rollover.

Client/server connection seems bad recently.
I know a guy who's complaining that his 700HP suit is getting gibbed. Which is to say that there is zero time between bullets impacting and him dying; often he says he sees the rounds after he dies.
Considering that he runs Min Assault, I'm assuming he knows the difference between dying because of the game, rather than because he's in a bad suit.

Something I've noticed as of 1.7 is the Aim-Assist seeming to suddenly "snap on" super tight, where I really really feel my crossair being magnetized to enemies. And then sometimes (usually both happen in the same match), it seems to completely shut off, where suddenly I can't track for ****, and I'm missing everybody. For the record, I'm usually using an HMG when I notice this, and I feel like I've noticed it more in the Research Lab than any other map.

Anyway, I agree on the AA issue, but it's not a huge problem, at least not for me. My real problem is when I'm sure I hit the target but it gets no or half damage. I'm starting using the Duvolle again because, seriously, it looks like I miss one shot every 2 shots. Any dev can confirm you're aware of the issue?

Absolutely. I fired until overheat a few times yesterday for no damage on targets I was clearly hitting. Blue shield flash and everything.

Anyone who uses a sniper has been aware of this for the last few patches. When they improved general hit detection, sniper hit detection went to hell. When I pull out my Charge, I get about 20% shield flare, even against stationary targets. |

Thought I was imagining things. I'm getting that kind of lagged response. A target will come out from behind a wall just as I am rounding the corner and I'm already going down seemingly before he or I have even actually got in the clear. Zero time to react.

Hit detection has been terrible since the last update. I find it gets worse when i play against people from other regions. Some players just can't be damaged but they can kill me really quickly. I think we need some regional server locks or something. |

It's always been wonky, especially since Uprising. I mostly notice it when using a shotgun.
They've been trying to improve it, and it is better... that is, shots hit more often. It also seems less precise, shots hit even when they shouldn't. |

there was so much lagg yesterday it wasnt funny. it had alot more lagg than the usual. and its normally a low amount for me.
first ive gone 1/6 in a battle while on foot in a long long time.
it looked like every1 was lagging in those matches.
it has to be lagg or something if ive fired an entire clip of my hmg into a heavy with a fg then switched to secondary and fired 10 scrambler pistol rounds at the same guy. yet i die by the forge gun. when this is cqc. even though i had gotten the drop on him as he missed 2-3 fg rounds killing me with the last one?. i know i havnt played in a while. but thats no excuse for that much lagg to be going on in the string of matches ive had. |

Rail Rifle is bad for this... you start shooting and nothing... take a break shoot again nothing.. shoot again BOOM INSTA death for them.. o.Oa? go me?
Combat rifle is similar really noticeable with the Assault... When you fire 68 bullets at a stationary target and they take 100 damage? but you can hear the bullets landing on your 7.1 surround, you can see the bullets landing but the server says I'm lying!
Hit detection seems to get affected in an area for all players involved... The More players Firing bullets the less bullets are landing no matter how accurate the input is. You'll notice this when you get several heavies and Rifles firing at a singular target they have 600-700HP but no one can land a shot on them while everyone is shooting. |

Absolutely. It got better when HD was first "fixed", but has progressively gotten worse over the subsequent months. Some days, like yesterday, have been outright terrible. |

I've noticed this quite a bit with the rail rifle. I can empty a clip into an enemy, landing at least 80% of the shots, and no damage is recorded. I have to switch to my sub to take them out. Other matches it seems it only takes 3-4 shots to take down an enemy. My corp has a term for this. "Being on the right / wrong side of the coin." This determines if we run militia gear or our regular suits. |

It's not just the RR and CR, looks like all the other weapons suffer the same hit detection issues, but maybe on these two guns are more noticeable....

Hey devil, I have to agree I have noticed some issues with hit detection especially with the ScR.
I wanna say its bad in PC but its always been bad and I kind of just learnt to play through the lag, but I've noticed it in Pubs now too but then again this last week Dust has seen a lot of horrid server lag.
Testing some big stuff for 1.8 ey CCP?

Blue Shields and choppier framerates for myself. Getting hitmarkers when I miss, and missing when I should have gotten hits.
My roommate was in a railgun tank earlier today, he was shooting another tank that was standing still, from like 60m away. He poured nearly his entire clip into the tank. The enemy tanks health wasn't updating, he wasn't getting hitmarkers, and about 4 seconds later he got the kill while he was halfway through reloading.
***CCP, please stop developing this game for PS3. It's been almost 3 years since closed beta and clearly it's not working. Perhaps try your luck for the PS4? If what I hear is true, the new generation of hardware and software was made to make developing a game much easier.
The PC and SL should fit into the Sidearm slot so it's accessible and practical to carry one.
