Didn't had the time to stalk the forums, like normal, so my questio is do we have a confirmed fix for that district lock **** with PC's in 1.8?
PC is pretty much the only reason I still played the game, since it's erased as a game mode I really don't feel like playing this game anymore, would be nice to have something more concrete than "we are aware of the situation, and mayb or maybe not fix it" especially after this bug has been known and exploited by months.
I know we do lock our districts aswell, so we are just as guilty as anybody else, but only us stop doing it wouldn't change ****.
So can i get some intel on that?

They are aware of the issue. It cripples the end game. I would bet ISK that they are going to do something. Wither it fully fixes the issue involved is yet to be seen. Judging on CCP's past responses to issues, they will over fix it. Expect districts to all stay online all the time or something similarly ridiculous.
Just look at the poor laser rifle and swarm launchers for insight :(. |

Yeah I know that feel. Been full hearted LR ever since the glorious chromo days :( breaks my heart to see a weapon which used to be that awesome so crippled to the ground -.-
Thanks for that info, lets see what CCP will deliver, maybe districts will stay locked for 10 minutes after a win lol

Just asked Saberwing about PC/FW fixes in 1.8 and he said they are bringing Nullarbor over to Shanghai to see what they can do about PC district locking issues.
However, it sounded like there might not be something in 1.8 (depending on what they want to do I think), and it certainly sounded like no FW changes in 1.8 at all.
TTG is working on EVE at the moment, so it seems like they have no one in Shanghai working on PC/FW.

I don't have much of a stake in PC any more but I do hope you fix the issues. To be honest I cant wait for PC 2.0 where it will really start to change but for now just fixing the locking would be a good start.
I am however more concerned with factional warfare. Right now I can never really get into any battles. I think just adding isk rewards would get people back into it. After that I think a deeper change may be needed.
1.8 needs to be good ccp. If 1.8 is everything we believe it will be then it will give me a lot of hope moving forwards.

Tbh i doubt they will fix it. They keep building half finished systems and ideas and get all supprised when it breaks. Everynow called FW screwing before it was even deployed and yeh the changes went it and now its even more broken than before just with a fancy front screen just to show you how broken it is.
I know their not doing it on purpose no one sets out to fail. But until we get a system that works and dust stops getting treated as a after thought to the all might EvE i highly doubt we are going to see anything meanfull.

Right now faction warfare I think is exactly where it can be with current friendly fire mechanics. People don't like it because it is easily griefed for profit no less. There are grief corps that spam starter fits and suicide to clone out their side and get paid by the opposing side. Add in that it's pretty much an all or nothing reward system, It just isn't worth playing with friendly fire and the current mechanics of the game, and this is coming from someone that thought friendly fire might work when it was announced. |

Semi-agree.
PC favors the attacker. The worst thing that can happen is that the attacker loses the clones he sends and fills your district. At the same time, the attacker generates at least 160 clones before a counter attack could land. After launching an attack, the attacker should only receive one day of clone regen. It would cripple the hyper-aggressive style that has characterized every dominate U.S. team since PC started.
Locking itself is the result of a few factors. When an attack is launched and both sides no show, the defender automatically wins. At this point the clone pack is refunded and a well known exploit is used to generate extra isk (potentially infinite amounts actually, though typically "only" 15mil). A few easy fixes could solve this problem.
>Changing the auto win team to the attacker would deter this strategy by making it FAR more work to lock districts.
>Elimination of the refund for clone packs would make it more costly to employ such strategys
>Fixing the exploit.
Clone packs still don't include enough clones. With the instant kill gib fest that is dust since the addition of auto-aim and scanners, 120 kills is not enough to beat any "proper" team loaded with combat rifles, tanks, and scanners. Clone packs should cost more and come with 130-150 clones. This would have the effect of making districts less valuable overall AND make locking more costly(once clone pack refunds are removed)

For me Dust is like this:
Pubmatches: To be stomped or get stomped (quiet randomly, rare good fights)
FW: A joke. You can choose your side, do you wanna win?->minni, gallente. Wanna loose?-->Amarr, Caldari. Very rare good fights.
PC: Challenging a well organised team and organising your team, active teamplay, mostly entertaining and close fights.
Without PC Dust is just not the same.
Personaly if 1.8 wont bring any changes i doubt that i will play alot. Might be fun for a week or two but all the grinding is not worth it if you don't have a motivation like PC as Endgame. I hope CCP is aware of this situation, because everytime we have PC's going crazy we have a **** load of players jumping up and want to ++articipate, especially the newer players, so if you want to keep this game intresting and dofferent from other games PC is the way to go. Not pnly the way it is, but maybe even with a bigger starmap to give more players and corps the opportunity to actively engage into the actual endgame.

I read a lot of good posts in here. I cannot say if I am a veteran, but I can say that Dust last changes really start getting on my nerves.
I am patient and passionate about this game. But as a scoot player, I really start getting crazy.
Assaults using scanners non-stop.
Logies playing assault with rail riffles.
Heavies at every corner (the 1.8 announcements about heavies + february event) can only be countered by other heavies, or in my case, remote explosives.
Such explosives being concieved to work against vehicles (tanks mostly) and to defend null canons. But as it takes like 10 seconds to plant 3 remotes on the back of the tank, as AV grenades are now worthless, as SL have been nerfed, and as I cannot fit a forge-gun on a light dropsuit (maybe I should ask for it, who knows ?), the tank is already gone (because it is faster that a jeep, remember ?) or I got killed by any militia assault rifle who touched me with 2 rounds.
For the history, I started playing scout with a speed fit. But being scanned the whole game, and a scanned scout being a dead one, I change strategy.
So I tried the low profile fit. But not being able to strafe properly, and a scout who cannot strage being a dead one, I change strategy.
So I tried the scneaky fit (nova / remotes / catalyzer / low profile). Nobody sees me coming, and I can one-shot pretty much every one I get close to. Well, it is close to work in public/FW, not that much against vets in PC. And when it does work, you receive hate mails anyway (actually GoodGame mails if your kills were mostly nova, and hate mails when it was remotes). Not liking being insulted after a game, I change strategy.
In the end, I ended doing what every scouts do : get my gallente dropsuit, stack some plates, fit a shotgun, and run my scan. At every game. On every mods. Well that works. When the frame-rate is doing ok, depending on the map...
To conclude, unbalanced weapons, unbalanced vehicles, equipment spamming and exploit, bad game fluidity, low quality gameplay control, over-efficient aim assistance, ridiculously short TTK, disappearance of skills impact on the game, bad public match making, broken FW, frozen PC, red-line issues, close to non-existent EVE-Dust link... And I did pay for that.
But Cumbaya ! CCP take vacations, making the update release even later, and we got our Quafe CK.0 for Valentine's day. Everything's fine.
Do listen CCP, the number of angry and borred players is growing. Even your core players start getting tired of your never ending promises. We want Dust to be great. Fix it now, you won't have many chances left to do it right.
Your blade is an extension of your mind. It must be swift, silent, focused. And deadly.
