The redline is OP yes especially when it comes to rail tanks but it is a working place for the snipers... Literally a sniper out of the redline is like a shark in the desert. They are absolutely pointless and defenseless outside of it. I have tried being an Assault Sniper (A sniper out side of the redline running and gunning and moving location constantly) it is pointless. I would come out of the redline more if the sniper rifles were like DMRs and I actually had a chance against rifled infantry outside of it. Snipers are weak hitting and their scope sucks because you cannot see sh*t. Why is is that when i aim down sight with a combat rifle while standing up I have no sway but I do when i am with a sniper. We need to fix the scopes of snipers so they are like battlefield scopes. We need to increase their damage by at least 40% because a 230 damage dealing ishukone doesn't even scratch a heavy and barley even tickles a medium suit. Increase damage of standard sniper to (210, 255, 280) and charge to 380.
TL;DR- buff sniper so it isn't pointless within 400m and buff damage so a proto charge can actually kill a ******* militia suit in one hit.( mostly those fking gallante militia frames) and so a proto charge can actually kill a proto medium frame. BTW (im a controller user and its like fking impossible to get headshots).
TL;TL;DR;DR- snipers are underpowerd and only worth using in the safety of redline.

While I agree sniper rifles need work, the redline is for cowards and scrubs. I've had fun matches close to the action well within the playable area of the enemy.
They're better at close range because the zoom is so low. |

well you are wearing a exoskeleton so there shouldn't be sway whatsoever. redline needs to go completely and have like a ground base that you can get through but cant shoot through and the other team cant shoot through either it would fix redlining and redline sniping/railguning. Snipers need their sway to go away while crouching and while standing it should be the way it is now when you crouch 2 -3 seconds to stop sway so quick scopers don't start showing up. this will make it so snipers aren't useless either though.

LOL defending sniping in the redline, how pathetic. Would you like your bullets to have head shot homing capabilities too? If you can't pull off headshots that is your own problem. You don't have to account for wind, or bullet drop, just point and shoot. No way should snipers be able to kill multiple enemies in quick succession. Try supporting your team. Pick off the units flanking, weaken the heavies they are SLOW after all. |

Ok, i want you to go out and use a controller to try to snipe people. The only reason games have aim assist is because joy sticks are not accurate but with a mouse it like clicking on things, it's easy and precise.. Anyway, on the map with the tubes in the air ( scroll down to second picture and im talking about that map) and during domination I defended all of point A because i had a clear view of it from where I was sniping even though i didn't get many kills. I literally won that match. Of course i was using a thales because all the other ones are underpowerd.

I get most of my kills, WP, and satisfaction from sniping on the field. It's a lot easier to get headshots and do serious damage. Use a scout suit with some dampening and you can travel all around the map, hitting redberries from all sides. |

230 damage from a sniper really sound threatening to a logi/ heavy/ medium/ scout? everysuit has enough hp to tank that except milita scout unless he uses armor plates and its a proto type sniper. You need to stop befoe i pistol whip you.

i hate glass cannons and its hard as fk to get head shots... well at least from controller players.

I've been plugging this before and it seems the time has come again: Kick all snipers out of the redline, then buff our damage so we're not so awful. As the OP said, militia gallente frames cannot be OHKed, even with 3x complex damage mods and prof 3 on a charge sniper. The only sniper worth using when you're actually trying to be useful instead of just trolling the team that redlined you is the Thale's, and I've come across 9 of them over 6 months of hitting the SP cap.
Edit: I would even accept a damage falloff past 200 or 300m if it could give us any actual stopping power within that range. |

yeah, definitely don't want to risk my thales... It's really sad that every sniper rifle is usless without atleast 3 dmg mods...

what goods a sidearm going to do when im in my 300 ehp proto suit that has like 4 complex dmg mods to make the sniper rifle slighly less underpowerd and im going up against a heavy...
